I'm so sorry, T., but I think you had better go to the doctor. When this happened to me, it was because I had a miscarriage. It can happen just out of the blue. Again, I'm so very sorry.
Hi,
I took 2 pregnancy tests on the 20th and they were positive. But just yesterday I got my period, not just spotting, I don't have the regular cramps and back pain I usually get. I have read the books and they say that this happens to some women, but this is a lot of blood. Please let me know if you have had this.
Thx.

Yes this has happened to me. It was an early miscarriage. Some women do bleed during pregnancy, but its more likely that you lost it. I'm so sorry. I had a positive preg. test days before my period and then had my period at the regular time. I went to the Dr. for a blood test but it was inconclusive. There I learned that with the new early perg. tests the medical community is seeing a lot more early miscarriage and they believe now that more than half of all pregnancies are lost before your period is even late! Its hard to loose a preg. at any stage, but to loose it just after finding out is an emotional roller coaster. I recently had a miscarriage at 3 months and am now more certain than ever that the first one really was a lost pregnancy because the blood is darker with a lot more clotting even with an early miscarriage. Hope this helps. Obviously you need to call your Dr.s office. Chin up.
It could be implantation bleeding or a miscarriage, either way you should probably go see your OB/GYN.
GL!
If you haven't done so already talk to your Dr. They can do an ultra sound for you.
If the blood is "bright red", definitely go see a doctor asap... Always better to be on the safe side. Good luck!
My miscarriage sounded just like this. I would go to the doctor to confirm, but good luck!
2 possible suggestions. One is that some women have bleeding cycles while they are pregnant. The other is that women can test positive on tests for about 30 days after miscarrying because the hormone that tests test for is still present. I hope your's is the first, since you seem excited about being pregnant! :)
Hello T.. I just wanted to let you know that this happened (sort of) with me with my first two pregnancies. I got my period for the first three months with both of them, however, I couldn't not get a positive (urine) confirmation when I took pregnancy tests because my HCG levels were so low. Hope this helps :)
About 1/3 to 1/2 of all pregnancies end in an early miscarriage. A lot of the time women don't even realize that they are pregnant and think that they are just getting their period a week or two late. Call your doctor.
The same thing happened to me. We had been trying to conceive a second child since April, in August when my period didn't show I tested and had 3 different tests come up positive. I'm never late either. I went to the doctor and all they would do is have me submit urine samples which kept coming up inconclusive. Then when I was 5 weeks I started bleeding alot and it was bright red with lots of blood clots so I knew I had lost it. Then when September came around I never got my period back and ended up pregnant again. I have since had an ultrasound which showed that I did conceive in September. Good luck to you.
I don't want to scare you, but this happened to me and it was a miscarriage. I did have major cramping to accompany the bleeding though. I do have cramps with every period as well. I hope this is not the same for you, but you need to get in to see the doctor. Also, take another pregnancy test because I took one after the bleeding began and it came up negative (I had probably taken 5 tests prior to that and they had all come up positive). I have heard/read that cramping can be ok and bleeding can be ok, but not when combined. There are some people who bleed or even have full periods during pregnancy and everything turns out fine. If you are not having any cramping, then maybe that is a good sign? Either way, it is really important to see a doctor ASAP so that they can determine exactly what is going on with you. I wish you the best and please update and let us know how you are doing!
Hi T.. What color is the blood? Dark red or bright red? That can tell you a lot. The best thing is to visit your OB ASAP. Good luck.
Well it could be a miscarriage or it could be a fake. I had my son in M. 2008 and going by my periods I should have been due June 2008. The sonogram said differently telling me that I had period while pregnant. I was "late" by a full week and the period was really heavy and chunky.
I hope everything goes well.

I would call your doctor. While everything could be ok, it could also be a miscarriage and you'll need to make sure everything is ok. I will be thinking very good thoughts for you and hope that everything turns out well!
