I Had a Mini Mom Tantrum This Morning, and I Feel Better :-)

My 14 month old woke up at 6:05 this morning, like usual. Not two minutes later, my 2.5 yr old wanders out of his room... Ordinary morning. Except for me.

I am absolutely exhausted. When i heard the baby talking in his crib, I literally threw a fit! I whined, rolled around in bed, kicked my legs, and beat my arms around. I wish they would sleeeeeeepppppp!!!! I am fine now, like every day. I have my coffee, and the kids are playing. But man, I just figured out I feel GREAT after I had a temper tantrum! I feel more perky, perhaps because I let out my tired frustration already.

Has anyone else done this some mornings? What do you do to not be such a grouch on an exhausted morning? I may have a mama fit more often :-)

What can I do next?

I hate mornings and my kids wake up early when I can sleep in. All except my 13 year old who I have to wake up. I have L. advice because I think I'm just like you. I'm learning from the other mother's responses. Though. Good luck, try to get to bed by midnight. Although I know that is hard because I'm a night owl. :)

Yep....Sometimes infront of the kids...Shocks 'em and we all then laugh...On Saturday morning....I went downstairs quick to get 1/2 hour in with a coffee and facebook before kids got up...My DH follows me downstairs saying the kids are awake coming to life...I threw a fit right then and there and said I am not doing a darn thing for anyone until I get my first cup o' joe ...and if no one likes it tough.....Had my first cup and 15 min of peace and then was a happy camper :)

LOVE IT! You do feel better cause you got your frustration out and didn't have to take it out on the kids! AND, all that thrashing around and acting like a 2 yr old got your blood going, almost like exercising! haha!!! Good one! I have had the occasional tantrum in the car! I look around to make sure no one can see me have a mini meltdown! I think, too, it just tires us out too much to have any energy left! hehe! Have a good day!

I had one a few weeks ago. I was so grumpy and I could feel myself scowling and snapping over everything. My oldest looked at me and said what is your problem? I just looked at him and said, Im tired, I don't want to be up and all I want to do is sleep until tomorrow! He looked at me for a sec then started laughing and said you sound like me now. That make me laugh and all was better.

Thankfully everyone is feeling better here so we all are getting more sleep.. it was a touchy two weeks with everyone in the house sleep deprived from the horrible cold we all had keeping us up all night coughing.

Lol! Oh yes, I have these mornings often the past few weeks. My almost 2 year old son has had a sleeping ban in effect, which means my husband and I have gotten absolutely NO sleep in weeks. We tried everything. Think my son decided that he hates sleep, and wants to see it die!

I've cried, and whined and begged for sleep for weeks. We have been so exhausted! FINALLY he slept all through the night last night, didn't have to get up with him at all. First time in months that has happened. We got him a new mattress for his crib. Hope that was all he needed...

When I am so tired I cant stand it, I cry, I get mad at myself for not being able to figure out why he cant sleep and then I get my coffee and vow to be happier for the day. It usually works. Usually... Lol.

I am still super tired today but I am happy that he at least got one night sleep. And the coffee pot just brewed my name, so hopefully after 2 cups or so I will have more energy!

I'd throw a temper tantrum if my kids woke me up before 8am, too!! hehe Yes, many mornings I feel like acting like that! A lot of it is pent-up frustration about a situation that can't be changed... like getting your kids to sleep, eat, drop the attitude, etc. And as much as we tell ourselves that we teach by showing and action, we ALL have our days! And if you come across a mom who says she never has mornings like yours this morning, SHE'S LYING! :)

Go to bed at 10. The sleep you get will be more restful. In Chinese medicine it is known that the organs of the body do better if you go to bed before midnight. Midnight does not rest the organs or rejuvenate the body as well.
When my children were growing up I woke at 5 am to meditate and read.
That gave me an hour and a half to myself. My husband slept until 7am which meant he never heard the kids in the morning.
I always read a poem a day to make myself feel the sense of wonder or to ponder over. A way to keep my mind alive.
I always had my fits in the shower so the kids and my husband wouldn't know I was feeling trapped by my life. I also insisted on a fireplace. The fires took the craziness out of my psyche.
