I Just Might Be Pregnant Again

I recently miscarried (approx. June 26th) and I am still waiting for my monthly to start again. While I was still bleeding from the miscarriage, I took 3 pg tests, one at the Dr. the other two at home, and they all came back negative. So today on a whim, I decided to take a pg test because I'm getting married in a week, and I was hoping my monthly would come soon so I wasn't on it on my wedding night. In less than a minute, 2 lines appeared. This was a much faster response than I got when I found out I was pregnant with the one I just miscarried. With that pg test, the lines were very faint, and took nearly the entire 3 minutes for it to show up, and I was further along then I would be this time. Today was the same quick result I got when I found out I was pregnant with my now 3 1/2 year old daughter.

I guess I'm wondering if it is possible that this is still the same hormones in my system, or if this is a new pregnancy. I know we were suppose to hold off until I had a complete cycle after the miscarriage, to be honest, we really weren't trying. Either way, I'm not telling anyone until I know for sure (except for my fiance).

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, I have taken a second test this morning, and same thing. Very fast results, Very dark lines. I'm going to make an appointment to see my Dr. thank you all for your responses. I have to believe that I have been blessed with a healthy pregnancy.

You might have some of the pregnancy hormones left and probably need to see your doctor ASAP. He/She will probably order a blood test to monitor the hormone levels in your blood. When I miscarried my doctor had me doing weekly blood tests until it was completely back to normal. He wanted me to wait for 2 complete cycles before I tried to get pregnant again. It is also very possible that you are pregnant, because you are very fertile after a miscarriage. I would call your doctor. Best of luck.

I got pg right after a m/c with my beautiful daughter. and same thing, the first one was so weak, and then the really strong line appears the second pg. might be it. The hormones drop pretty quickly after the m/c, i think mine numbers were down in less than a week, really just a few days. but i was only 6w pg whent he m/c happened. no d&c btw

oh good luck on your wedding, you will almost have my anniversary

Its easier to get pregnant after a birth or a miscarriage, so sounds ik eyou might be pregnant again. We miscarried in June and in July (one month later) i was pregnant even after the docs told us that i could not get pregnant anymore.

OUr baby is now 2 1/2 years old...a welcomed surprise ;)

L.,

I also had a miscarriage, followed by a D&C. I became pregnant the following month. According to the doctor, it's very easy to become pregnant after everything is "cleaned out". I have a beautiful 22 year old daughter from this time in my life.

I don't know about the hormone thing. I think that if it shows positive, you are pregnant. That's always exciting, to me anyway.

Also, I don't know if you had a D&C after the miscarriage.

Good luck with your new marriage (and possible new baby)!

Absolutely! My second daughter was conceived on the second cycle after my miscarriage..and we weren't even trying. (I've had issues with infertility.) Its possible that it is still some lingering HCG...but its been over a month. I kinda doubt it.

Hello,

I also miscarried about that same time and there is a huge chance you still have the same hormones left. My doctor has me going once week to have my blood drawn to monitor my hormone levels until I get back to zero. Just today they called and I am at 50. Last week I was at 56, the week before that 117, the week before that 215 and the week before that in the 400. etc. ect.. I still have not started my monthly. I would go to your doctor and have them do the quanative HCG blood test. They may be able to tell you if it is still from the miscarriage if the number is low. Good luck and congratulations on you marriage!
