Hi, we are getting set for our first family camping trip! Daughter 4 and son 2 will be coming along! I need to clean a couple things before we go. I am wondering what is best for these items:
1. Our tent. Its been stored for years and evidentally urinated on by a dog, YUCK! How do I get the smell out? I really dont want to throw it out.
2. A camp chair. A friend gave us a camp chair with some mildew stains...any way to get those out?
3. Double stroller. Its been stored for about a year and has normal dirt and stains on it, but we are using this trip then selling it to a friend. I want it to be nice and clean for them.
4. Our blow up bounce house. It has some mildew stains at the bottom of the slide...also wondering how to get that out???
Thanks in advance for all the great advice I am sure to receive! :)

If you want an environmentally friendly and healthy cleaning product, I strongly recommend Bac Out.

It will get rid of the urine stains, take care of mold and mildews and freshen everything up. Biokleen also a new product that is a "natural" version of Febreeze.

Comes in lavender scent or lemon thyme.

If you require a bit of extra cleaning or brightening afterwards, a little oxygen bleach will help whiten up dark mildewed areas.

Once finished cleaning, lay it out in the sun. Any areas missed by cleaning will be sanitized by the sun!

I don't know about the tent, but the others, 30 second cleaners works wonders on mildew and dirt.

I work for REI and one item we sell TONS of is tents! On REI's website there is a section called Expert Advice. One of the articles there talks about how to clean tents. You can see this on the following link:

I hope that helps! Hope y'all have a great time camping. I know my family and I always do when we go!

to remove urine mis a solution of 1 part water 2 parts vinager spray it down let it soak it for 2 hours or until completely dry, then mix another solution this time 1 part vinager and 2 parts water spray it down and let it dry, then you rinse it off and air it out a couple hours to get the vinager smell out. for mildew toothpaste works for me, if it is really bad i mix toothpaste, baking soda and lemon juice and scrub it. best of luck and have memorable times camping

I have the same answer for almost all those! Clorox clean-up. It has bleach to clean the mildew off and works exceptionally well. Bio-Kleen Bac-Out will get the dog pee odor out and it has a really nice lime scent which is a bonus.
