Hi my daughter is turning one in nov. And her party theme is going to be princess', i want to have made a custom cake in the shape of a 3-d crown but i cant find any places that are resonable. I found one place but, she would charge $95, i think thats to much for a one yrs old cake. Can anyone refer me to any place that would be lower?

I know you want Brooke to have a wonderful first birthday on this earth - but she is NOT going to remember it! Get a cake mix and icing from Wal-Mart and bake it yourself. Get some of that colored frosting and draw a crown on there and write her name and how old she is. Take a picture. Then take a picture of her digging her hands in there and smearing it all over her face and hair! Trust me. When you do something really good for your child one year, you feel that you can't let them down the next year, then the next year, then the next year etc. etc. etc.!
My kids are 10 and 11, and I have always baked them their own cakes. I am not an artist, and I always see the picture on their cake turning out so cute... it never does. I really think that my kids have grown to see just how "crazy mamma makes their cake"! Bottom line: loosen up! Enjoy her birthday and don't stress over the small (or expensive) things.

My best friend makes custom cakes and is very inexpensive. I believe she charges between $40-$55 for a custom cake.
