Don't buy used buy new because of the warranty if anything is wrong with it or breaks your out of your $$$ that you spent on the used treadmill, look into an ellpitical instead to me they work so much better than a treadmill
I have no knowledge at all about treadmills. Anyone got some tips for me to purchase one used or new or have a specific brand they like or do not like? Is it true the more money you spend the better?
Any kind of info you got about a treadmill let me know please.
Thanks

Lilpiggietoes has some good advice regarding the warranty... however, you can often get a good used treadmill for like $50 - $300 bucks... many of them hardly used at all... so if anything is ever wrong with it, you aren't out all that much money. Considering that many are in the $1000 +tax, +warranty new, repairs aren't really that expensive. So, if you buy a $50 treadmill that needs $200 in repairs, you've still saved a lot of money. That's my opinion anyways. AS for price, I would say on new ones, the more expensive ones are often better quality/more durable/more settings. You can look up reviews online.
As for the eliptical, I prefer it as well, but my needs may be different than yours.
Go to Craigslist. Lots will be listed there. Research the ones listed on a website that rates treadmills. There are a couple. Keep watching until you find one you like. Garage sales often have treadmills and will even put it right in their listing because it is a large item. I have had two used treadmills. One someone put on the curb, and the second, an $800 model listed for $40. I gave her $80 for it.
Some have a graphic image of an oval track that lights to show your progress as if you were running on a track. I like that feature. Other than that, just make sure the model is beefy enough if you plan to run on it, not just walk. Your research will give you info about that.
You definitely can get a used treadmill. They take up a lot of space and make people feel guilty looking at the thing and they just want to get rid of it!
Test it out to make sure it works.
Good luck!
When buying ANY equpment use it for at least 10-15 minutes and try out ALL the features.
Are going to run or walk? That makes a huge difference.
I've been thru THREE stair climbers, one treadmill and a Treadclimber. I LOVE the Treadclimber! You get what you pay for but if you can find a deal on a good piece go for it! I've had cars that cost less than the TC but we were able to finance it and not pay any interest. That's my baby! :)
