T.K.
If you are going in as an office, you could chip in for a pack n play or a carseat for when he comes to visit gramma.
Hello Ladies...I'm looking for a gift idea. My supervisor at work just welcomed her first Grandson. She lives 5 hours away so she will be seeing him probably once a month. We wanted to get her a present to celebrate his arrival, does anyone have any unique ideas? Someone suggested a gas card that she could use to go visit, and I like that idea but it's kind of generic. I was hoping for something a bit more personal. Any ideas you have would be appreciated...Thanks.

A album that says "Grandma's brag book" on the cover so she can start saving pictures!
What about a bracelet or necklace with a grandmother charm, or the birthstone of the grandchild? She could add more, as her family grows. I do think no matter what you decided on, that a gas card should also be included.
Digital photo frame
A wood hobby horse
A grandma "afghan"
A matchy matchy outfit, like a newborn sailor suit and a sailor top for grandma.
Depends on the budget, and the number of people chipping in.
A digital picture frame might be really nice.
Or a webcam if her computer doesn't have it built in. Now that she has a grandbaby, even though they can't talk, their parents can sit and hold the baby, so she can see him in between visits.
Or a pack and play for her house, if she wants to have him over sometimes.
What about a basket... of stuff? Useful stuff.
Not only a gas card.
Gas cards are very appreciated though, because gas is expensive.
And she lives 5 hours away.
What about gift cards for other things too.
Or a camera? Like from Costco. Its cheaper there. One of those sure shot type cameras, pocket size.
Or a personalized tote bag... so that she can carry her grandson's things or whatever in it, when she goes to visit?
