Give him whatever you are eating - cut it up small - mash it, whatever... as long as it's not hot and spicy, fish or honey - let him go at it! Give him a slice of bread w/ some jelly spread real thin, watch him go after it! Give him eggs, avocado's are great for little ones! Even if he only has a few teeth, they know how to mash up food w/ their gums real well at this point! Good luck!!

First off, does he have any teeth? I would try things like the pasta meals, pasta, fruit puffs, cereal bars, things like that would be fine.

Good luck.

I make my own baby food and my son is now 9 months old and started going through a similar stage of not being too interested. So i started mixing different things that i know he likes. Like i mix his sweet potatoes and peas and for fruits i will chop up banannas into small peices and mix it with applesauce and strawberries, or blueberries. You can make all kinds of combinations from the food He already likes.

My son is 9 months and I've been giving him 1/2 jar of stage 3 food and some finger foods. We've had a lot of success with rice, boiled carrots and green beans cubed, turkey and chicken cubed. Also he loves gerber minifruits, puffs and cheerios for a snack.

You can definitely begin to transition to table food. Make sure your baby has learned to mash food even w/o molars. The act of moving the jaw in a mashing movement allows him to minipulate his foods before swallowing. My 10 month old enjoys whatever we eat (that is healthy of course) and I just use the blender to puree or chop his meals when necessary. The reason that there are few food choices in Stage 3 is because our babies are supposed to start table foods once it is determined they can mash foods and handle thicker consistencies. Plus our own cooking usually tastes ALOT better! :) Good Luck!

My son is 18 months old now but when he was your sons age we switched to stage 3 he didn't like them very much (if you taste them, they kinda taste like paste!). If he has teeth... try feeding him mac and cheese, pasta, tortillas, cubed cheese, fresh fruits (rasberries are a favorite here), green beans.... encourage him to eat with his hands! It will be a messy experiance though!!!
