Well one thing I did for my daughter for my son's games was to get her a Cheerleading outfit. Gymboree makes some really cute ones and there are a ton on ebay right now with Halloween. She really had fun cheering the guys on.

Another thing take a blanket and some dolls (either big ones or Barbie) that she can change out the clothes etc. ONLY let her play with them on game days...otherwise the toy won't hold her attention for very long. Do that with ANY toy you use for game day...leave it in the car and it only comes out at game time.

As a grandmother, I would suggest bringing grandma or leaving
her with grandma. I know as a grandmother I would love it!!!
If this possible, this would be a good idea!!!! If I think of
something else, I will try to tell you.

You have gotten awesome advice! I love those ideas and I will use them to keep my 2 abd 6 year olds entertained during volleyball and basketball this season! One thing you might consider is offering a reward for good behavior. At almost 4 I bet your daughter could understand that concept. Offer a sucker during the last inning, or ice cream after the game, or anything that will motivate your little one to behave. It's really a matter of limits, boundaries and habits. Let her know exactly what is and isn't allowed and reward her for obeying. Let her know before the game what she will get if she behaves and remind her throughout the game. Combine that with all the other great ideas you've gotten and I bet you'll be enjoying those games again.

If you don't have one try getting her a leapster or leappad you can get educational games to go with them. There are different brands they are almost all the same. I got my daughter a leapster when she was 3 to travel with and she played it all the time.

If she enjoys movies, a portable, battery operated DVD player might keep her attention while you are sitting in the bleachers. It works wonders for my 2 1/2 year old who loves the Cars movie. We bring it to restaurants and in the car on trips and even on the airplane when we went on vacation. He really sits still and watches.

My daughter played on a traveling soccer team and usually her dad took her to games, tournaments while I stayed home with little brother so he could do his things.

We invested in the nintendo ds and the leap frog. He loves to sit and play with them!!! I also pack a bag with colors, toys, chalk and bubbles so he can share with others!! We are thinkin about getting him the fisher price camera so he can take pictures of his brothers and sister or the friends he meets along the way!! I also make sure he has his own little cooler so he can eat and drink whenever he wants!! Hope this helps!! Good luck

Do you have a digital camera that she can play with (old of course) and let her be the photographer of the game. They love seeing the pics they take and she can take as many as she wants for as long as she wants. Making a friend with other family's kids her age always helps, make sure you have a blanket to lay down for them as their play mat. Its very hard when you want to watch your child play ball, and you aren't able to. I think you will still have to head to the playground, but hopefully the trips there will be shorter and fewer. Good Luck

Hi A., my son plays baseball too, and it was hard with my younger son too. We had him bring his skateboard or bike if that was acceptable at the park we played at, only some it is. I have seen girls playing jumprope and coloring, also don't rule out a long walk around the baseball park.

My son is 3 & he loves his Story Reader or Leap Pad for car trips or for other "boring" times. They both can use earphones, so he focuses on the story or activity. Plus, not everyone has to listen!

How about a job? Have her dress up as a cheerleader and teach her some simple silly cheers! You'll at least 15 minutes out of her that way! LOL
The rest of the time...I have no clue!

I WAS that little sister and I remember being SO bored. I used to make forts under the bleachers, bring a doll and play "camping", walk around the field again and again and again (one of my parents often missed watching the game)and my favorite...bringing dog treats (we didn't have a dog at the time) and searching for people who came to the game with their dogs so I could give them a treat.
How about making up "flashcards" ahead of time with things she has to "find", like a picture of a tree, a dog, a ladybug, jungle gym, water bottle, etc.

Good luck!

My daughter most enjoyed watching a movie on our portable dvd player at my sons games. Is there an open area that she could draw with chalk, or play with other kids? My daughter has always been really good about packing a bag with a book, a few dolls/stuffed animals and art supplies to keep her busy. Maybe you could even pack a few colors of playdough or clay. Good luck!

Dont expect that little one to sit and be quiet at the game...you are going to wear yourself and her out if you do. Set boundaries for her...explain how far she can wander...be wiling to take her to the playground or for a walk. I would just pack a backpack full of things she enjoys...things that it doesnt matter if they get a little dirty or dusty. Make the time between games fun for her...find something to do that is interesting and different than the game. This may mean that Dad stays and keeps the ballplayer relaxed and rehydrating and you take off with the other girls off to do something fun. Our girls always amused themselves pretty well during the games that their big sisters played and all of the other parents in the bleachers helped keep an eye on them and keep them amused.
I miss fast pitch softball!!!!

Have you thought about maybe getting her involved in the game. Maybe som pom poms and a cheerleader uniform. You could make up a few fun basic cheers.

I saw a great idea in a parents magazine. Fill a smaller plastic container with a lid with some sand and a few sand toys. It will fit in your trunk. You can snap the lid on and take to grandma's house or to games and it will provide some entertainment.
