For my son and my nephews this year I got them all individual bags of personalized M&Ms, which I just love by the way. One of the cutest and fun ways to show you care, and kids just think it's great to see their name and/or face on an M&M with their local sports team, fave pro team or cartoon character, they just love it, and there are so many occasions where they just make the perfect touch. Anyway..I didn't want to just put the bags in a regular gift bag or box or just wrap it in paper, I wanted to try to do something a little more personal, fun and unique, like the gift. So I guess I'm looking for ideas of things I could *wrap* or place them in so to speak..ya know what I mean?! Thanks so much!!
Oh, and I forgot to mention earlier, the M&Ms themselves were actually much more than I originally thought and planned to spend on them, so I'm already over my budget for the things..so I'm hoping to go clever,cute and thrifty with these ideas, thrifty... emphasis on thrifty :) Thanks!
Buy them candy dispensers. Like gumball machines. They sell them in several stores such as Walmart, Target, Shopko, Kmart. They are fun to have and hold the candy and look cute on a dresser or shelf.
One of my favorite comic strips back in the day was Mother Goose and Grimm, and one year someone wrapped a little gift in wrapping paper that had Grimm in a space suit all over it. I can't remember what the gift was, but 15 years later, I remember that paper, lol. It made it personal instead of just Christmas wrap, because it showed she knew something novel about me that not everyone knew. Is there a character that someone really loves that you could get a little pack of paper for? Or if one of them just loves comics you could wrap it in the comic pages. You could go to the dollar store and get some glass jars. If someone is into a sport, I'm sure you could find a jar (or a bank) in the shape of their sport (baseball bank or whatever) and put the m&ms in that instead of a jar. I saw some cute little Grinch bags at my grocery store the other day. Or yeah, a little stocking or the chinese takeout boxes are cute. If someone is into woodwork or whatever, buy a cheap little toolbox and put the bag in that (or tacklebox if someone's a fisherman), etc.
Put them in a really cool Chinese take out box or something. They sell them at craft stores like Micheals, Joanns...
Check someplace like "Things Remembered" for clear glass jars that you could have their initials engraved or etched on. Then put the M&M's inside.
For example:

What about a brown paper bag that you decorated yourself? I don't know how artsy you are, but one of my favorite ways of wrapping gifts is to take old brown paper shopping bags, cut them out flat, and draw cute pictures all over the blank side. Holly, candy canes, little santas, snowmen, whatever. Maybe for something small like M&Ms, you could use brown paper lunch bags and just decorate them before opening them up. You could write the kids' names on them in their favorite colors, use glitter, whatever.
My brother always got different size boxes, the smallest one containing the gift submerged in a ton of those packing peanuts. Then he would put that in the next largest box, and wrap that. Then that one goes inside the next largest box, wrap that, and so on. We got the biggest laugh out of all that unwrapping. Usually, I would do all that unwrapping and find a $20 taped to the bottom of the last box. haha

Put them in a Christmas stocking.
Don't know how big your bags of M&Ms are, so...
stuff the bags into the center of an empty roll of toilet tissue, paper towels, or some other such similar item - then use tissue paper in whatever color(s) or pattern(s) you have or even wrapping paper and leave the ends longer and just roll the tubes in the paper - once "wrapped" then use some yarn or curling ribbon or such to tie up the ends!
Why not pour them into tall mason jars? You can get more creative and paint their names on the jars, too. When the candy is long gone, they have a jar to keep special things, or use it as a bank for their coins. You can wrap the jar with ribbon. M&M's are a cute idea!
