Ideas of a Baby Gift for Friend

I have a friend who is about to have her second child. It will be a boy. The first was a girl and is a bit older. They have every imaginable. What would be a good gift for the baby? She is an extremely generous person and I am far from wealthy. I want to give her something that indicates I put thought and effort into the gift. Something unique would be great.

What can I do next?

If you know what they are going to name the baby I would suggest an embroidered blanket. When I was pregnant with my son we recieved a blanket with his name on it as well as a blanket buddy(small blanket attached to a stuffed bear) with his name on it. Those were probably my favorite gifts cause they were so personal.

For my BF's recent shower I too wanted something special. I got her a bracelet with the babies name on it. I bought it from ebay and it was about 30.00. It was so pretty! Let me know if you would like the info on the seller. Another inexpensive thing you can do if you are a bit crafty. Get the unfinished letters at Michaels and spell out the babies name. Then you can paint them to match the room decor and attach a nice ribbon to each letter to hang it by. Good Luck

Contact Irene of Sew Nice at ____@____.com for custom embroidery on hand-made baby items. Tell her your budget and I'm sure she will find something special for your friend's baby. She will coordinate items (burp pads, blankets, bibs, etc) with matching material and designs if you like. Irene never lets me down and the recipients of her gifts are always pleased.

I second the baby blanket suggestion. Both of my girls received Little Giraffe blankets and still use them today (they're 2 and 3). Since we didn't share names before they were born I had them embroidered after the fact. These blankets are incredibly soft and the 12x12 (approx.) size is just perfect!

I second the blankies. I go to Cat and the Fiddle in Plano Preston/SPring Creek area.

They have Little Giraffe, Swankie Blankie and others.

My 14 yr old got a silkie when she was born and loved it. The blankies are SO soft, unique and always loved. I give these everytime I have a baby gift to purchase.

I did not share my daughter's name before birth. I just got things embroidered afterwards.
