Hi lades/gents!!
I am having trouble coming up with the wording on invitations for my moms 5 year breast cancer survivor luncheon. Its not a party or anything like that just family and some of her friends getting together to "celebrate" her being breast cancer free. My mom does not want the word celebrate, celebration or party on the invites. Everything I come up with sounds either way to formal or not formal enough. The attire is dressy-causal and the hours are from 1:30 to 4 if that helps out any.
Do you have any suggestions for wording for this occasion?

Thanks this is what I came up with "You are invited to take part in a special occasion "5 Years & Counting" for Jane Doe" Then I included the date, time, etc.
Now I need ideas for pink table decorations...LOL!!!
looking forward to seeing the responses to this question. I am hitting my 5 year cancer free mark in march (the same date as my birthday) I will be 50 march 21st and got my breast cancer diagnosis on my 45th birthday, happy birthday to me. This years will be better and we are also planning a party.

I like the "Fight Like A Girl" idea......or the "Anniversary" angle.

I actually like your wording in the question. I would filp it to say " Surviving Cancer Luncheon" . Congrats to your mother and family.

The not wanting the word celebrate is difficult...
