I would say if the doctor didn't tell you that you are pregnant you probably are not. But if you really want to know just call and ask. They keep the records.
I had unprotected sex on march 30th and april 2nd & 1st. I went to the hospital on april 5th and had a blood pregnancy test taken. (also i have irregular periods last period was october 29th or 30th) the doctor never gave me the results to the pregnancy test but i have the lap paper but i don't know how to read it. it says:
BHCG QUANT BETA HCG, QUANT (then it says "low, normal, high" and under high it has the number 10
so does that mean i am and my hcg level is 10?
i took 2 urine test but they came back negative so i'm not really sure.
i read this on a website:
An hCG level of less than 5 mIU/ml generally indicates that you are not pregnant. Pregnant women normally attain serum concentrations of 10 to 50 mIU/ml in the week following conception.
* hCG under 5 mIU/ml: Negative. Not pregnant
* hCG between 5-25 mIU/ml: "Equivocal". Maybe pregnant maybe not. Repeat test in a couple of days
* hCG over 25 mIU/ml: You are pregnant!
0-1 week: 0-50 IU/L
1-2 weeks: 40 - 300
3-4: 500 - 6,000
1-2 months: 5,000 - 200,000
2-3 months: 10,000 - 100,000
2nd trimester: 3,000 - 50,000
3rd trimester: 1,000 - 50,000
Non-pregnant females: < 5.0
Postmenopausal: < 9.5
I would say if the doctor didn't tell you that you are pregnant you probably are not. But if you really want to know just call and ask. They keep the records.
I would guess from reading what you copied from the paper that you may be pregnant or may not be pregnant. "*hCG between 5-25 mlU/ml "Equivocal". Maybe pregnant maybe not. Repeat test in a couple of days." Equivocal means uncertain. Tho, I can't tell to what the 10 on your lab results is referring.
You can call the advice nurse at the hospital that did the test and ask them what your report means.
I suggest that you see an Ob/gyn. Not just to find out if you're pregnant but to find out why you haven't had a period since Oct. There could be a reason for not having a period that does not need attention but then there could be a reason that is serious and needs to be addressed.
I would call the doctor's office and ask them what the chart says. Tell them you have the lab paper and don't understand how to read it, and they can look in your chart and tell you what that says.
Have you always had the irregular periods. That would be something to discuss with the doctor, unless it's normal for you and you have the doctor have already discussed that. If it's not a normal thing, something else could be going on.
I would try the home pregnancy test again, and if that still shows negative chances are you aren't pregnant. Since it's been about a month if you were, something would be showing up on the urine test by now. or you can always ask the doctor to re-test you via blood.
Why not call the doctor and ask them? .........that's what you pay them for. You should not have to spend all of your free time doing research trying to get the answer. One call and you will know. Good luck!
Yes I would call your doctor and ask them what the test results mean. It's weird for them to give you the lab work and not give you a yes or no answer. Good luck.
Well I am not sure about the info on the blood test, but at this point you should be able to get a preggie test that will tell you for sure as it has been about a month. I am nursing so I don't have periods at this time and I thought I might be pregs as well. I took a test about two weeks after the "incident" :) and then every week after for about three more weeks. Once a month to six weeks has passed you should be in the clear. If I were you I would test today, then next week. If you are still negative, I would say you are not pregnant. If you are still concerned just go back to your dr for a blood test because at this point that would be very definitive as it has been a month. Best wishes!
A missed period is a bit early to test especially if your periods are irregular, I would wait a week then get a home preg test. I agree with the poster that said go to an OB/GYN.

i'm not a doctor, but i am pretty sure you wouldn't be able to tell only 3 days after having sex if you're pregnant. i'd call your doctor and ask or have another test run.
You need to discuss your results with your doctor.
Next time maybe look into Plan B also known as the morning after pill if this is unwanted.
According to what you wrote, it sounds like your are either actively Pregnant or might have something called a blighted ovum. WHich basically means that the egg was fertilized and stopped growing at a certain point because something was wrong. If that is the case, you have to see your doctor for an ultrasound to make the proper diagnosis.
It takes about 10 days from coneption for the hCG hormone to show up in your urine for it to be detected on a home urine test. If you are actively pregnant, your hCG levels multiply each day, so by now you can easily have a reading of 1,500 or more. Either way you have enough hCG in your blood at the time to have a pregnancy diagnosis and should retake a blood test - in either case, like the other ladies said, go see your doctor!
You should never try to get medical advice from anyone except a medical professional. Take these results to a doctor and have them interpreted by someone who absolutely knows what the numbers mean. I would like to think that if you were pregnant, a responsible doctor would let you know because you have to take extra care of your health, for yourself and you unborn child.
