Heres whats been going on May 30th I had a positive pregnancy test yay!! 24 hours later I started bleeding heavily and passing clots...Well my levels are all over the place. And my doc isn't really saying much...My levels have gone from 55 to 46 to 111 to 70 and now as of yesterday they are 498...Any other moms go through this? And what was your outcome...I already accepted that I had miscarried since thats what I was told last Wednesday and to get the results of 498 today I just don't really get whats going on.

What can I do next?

The levels should not have been going down at first. But to go up that dramatically would seem to indicate you are still pregnant. I've heard of quite a few woman that had early ultrasounds that showed twins and then just one was lost. I wonder if that could be what's going on? Only time will tell. Just hold on because I know you want to know like yesterday. Do you have an appointment to do the test again in a couple more days?

Well, I had a similar experience with the blood clots and the bleeding during my pregnancy and had accepted that I had a miscarriage as well. I don't know what my levels were at any time though because I didn't go to the doctor right away. When I did finally go, (to get a dnc--- I was still bleeding mind you) they did an ultra sound that showed a 12 week baby doing fine... obviously, I was pretty shocked, and excited. Anyway, the doc found a polyps that was the cause of a lot of the bleeding, and there was also "old" blood around the uterus that was also passing. The doc never did say what he thought about this other blood, other than he wasn't concerned. At 16 weeks, I again passed some pretty big blood clots... and I do bleed a little still, although it is getting lighter and lighter. It is all very unsettling. I've had my 20 month ultrasound though, and the baby is absolutely fine. All you can do right now is take care of yourself. There isn't much you will be able to do to stop anything from what may or may not be happening, but there is hope that you are fine :-) Hang in there. I know, it is a rollercoaster of a ride and I hope it turns out well for you :-)

You definitely sound pregnant, but I think your levels are still too low for an ultrasound, seems like they have to be about 2,000 before they can see anything. Your levels double about every 24-48 hours. I had a miscarriage as well and my levels dropped to about 100 and I was still bleeding, BUT the 2nd time, I had all the same symptoms with all the bleeding and was devastated but I was pregnant and stayed that way! When I found out, my levels were around 400, my dr. just did blood tests every other day for a week or 2 until they could determine via ultrasound. My best friend also had massive bleeding and clots and her levels were dropping-they were going to do a D&C and decided to wait over the weekend. On Monday she went in and the Dr. decided to do ultrasound before the D&C and she was definitely pregnant but was terrified she was going to lose the baby. She bled that way almost the entire pregnancy and that baby is 7 today! Hang in there! Thoughts and prayers are with you as I know how emotional this is.

All I can say is that I was definitely pregnant then started having a lot of bleeding. They kept me in the hospital for the day but sent me home basically to deal with the fact I was miscarrying. I had to go back on Monday for tests and they were really low so I prepared for the worst. They had me go back on Wednesday and my levels were through the roof!
I had a beautiful healthy baby, full term, 7 pounds 4 ounces.
Keep hope! As long as your levels are going up, that's a great sign!

I wish you the very best!

Your hormones may take awhile to level out, every woman's body will react differently, after my miscarriage it took about a month for my hormones to level out (I was not a fun person to be around for about a month, moods all over the place).

Also if you are asking your doctor for an explanation and not really giving you one it might be time to find a new one. To me I at least want to something, even if it is "this might be your body's way of dealing, and it may take till next period for your hormones to level out or return to your norm." It is hard sometimes to say exactly why one's body does what it does but a doctor should be able to explain what they think is going on.

I just have to tell you a story. I hope this isn't too long.

My daughter was pregnant with her second child and she was just a few weeks/months. Not far along at all. She called me at work and told me to meet her at the ER, she was having a miscarriage. I met her there and there was blood everywhere, clots, tissue, some little thing that looked like a sea horse with ribs, etc...I was sure it was a miscarriage. Her hormone levels appeared to be dropping from a previous doctors appointment they had on file. She went home and followed the doctors advice about resting and stuff. However, she did not follow through by going to the OB/GYN for final bloodwork. About a month later she again called me at work, very upset, she kept saying that the fetus was still inside and causing her to feel ill and not get well, she was still throwing up, her bobs hurt, and her tummy was still there.... I met her and they kept telling her she must be pregnant again. She kept telling them they were nuts, she hadn't done anything to get pregnant. The lab person came to draw blood for a pregnancy test and my daughter just had a fit and told me to go get that nurse and tell her to do an ultra sound. That would show them, they would see she wasn't pregnant. The nurse came, being rather condescending to her, and when she put the ultra sound on my daughter's tummy her heart rate was about 75, her babies heart rate was about 150. The nurse's jaw dropped and she admitted that if the baby was only a few weeks along the ultra sound wouldn't have picked it up until about 16 weeks. So, my daughter did have a miscarriage, the tissue that went to the lab was a fetus, but the baby's twin was still alive and growing.

There are many medical things that can be going on, have faith and just be calm. What is going to happen will happen. Good luck.
