I use candlenut oils when I had bald spot. It makes it grows fast and very thick.
My friend's teenager is trying to grow her hair out from a pixie cut, and since I had to do the same thing once she asked me for any suggestions. She mentioned vitamins for hair growth, which I've never tried. Has anyone here tried them? Do they actually work?
I've heard taking prenatal vitamins improves your nails, skin, and hair. I also have seen special vitamin combos at GNC for the same thing - but is it actually worth the money?

Hormones control hair growth. I experimented with pre natal vitamins long before I got pregnant and I can tell you that my hair and nails didn't grow any faster because I took them. Now, once I got pregnant, my hair and nails took off like wild fire and that was even while not taking pre natal vitamins because they made me sick. So, hormones, not pills make hair and nails grow.
Nioxin hair vitamins work. You can get them at ulta and most salons. A G. at ulta told me omega 3 and b vitamins help.
I'm a hairstylist, i have had pixie cuts multiple times. Prenatal vitamins work really well, as do the b vitamins, biotin, Vitamin A, B, C and E... so I would just stick to a good prenatal. I would avoid any gimmicky hair growth supplements, they don't work and aren't really tested. Of course, it isn't going to make her hair grow super fast, but they can help improve the growing patter and the health of the hair. The best way to grow out a pixie, is to maintain shaping the cut as it grows out so it doesn't grow out looking like a mullet for a year.
Nioxin's Recharging Complex pills may or may not help with hair growth, but they are help promotes, stronger, healthier hair as it grows out. Nioxin's other hair growth products are for people who aer balding and have shrinking hair follicle issues, so those wouldn't help grow out a short cut either.
