Hi Moms
I'm trying to decide if I should watch children in my home or if I should work part-time. I need to get an idea of how much in-home daycares charge. I'd appreciate any feedback you may have in this area. Thanks so much!

I currently charge 125 week for 6 weeks-12 months, 115 week for 12 months-18 months, 100 week for 18 months-3 years, and 80 week for 3 years-5 years. It just varies in areas. I would look online at the state website http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child...

and look for people in your area and call to get price ranges for your area. If you become registered you're able to get in the food program most likely which helps a lot.

Good luck!

There is a website www.thedaycarelady.com If you go here to the contracts, they give you some forms you can use in your business. Contracts are a MUST! http://thedaycarelady.com/form1.htm Some of the contract forms has prices that include overtime pay, holiday pay, late pickup pay...

I know younger babies typically are charged more, and discounts sre given to families with mulitple children. Some people will pay more if they want you to only watch their child or just a few, so you wont feel the financial burden of losing the income from more children to staify them. You can always go to the classifieds and call some other in home providers and ask their rates to see if you are on track or not.
