Hi everyone! I'm a stay at home mom to a 1 1/2 year old boy and am pregnant with our second baby. I'm feeling a little frumpy these days. I really need a good haircut and color job. Any suggestions on an affordable hair stylist in the South Austin area?

What can I do next?

My friend Heather does an awsome job with color and hair. Right now she is working out of her home (kids are welcome).

I asked this same question and was recommended to use Brooke at MaximumFX on Slaughter. I really liked her. She listened to what I wanted and also gave me suggestions for a good look for me. I like for a stylist to be current and have ideas. Good Luck.

Hi K.,

Try Shirlene or Carol at Court of Two Sisters. They are really reasonable in their prices, they love kids, and have toys and an area your son can play in while you are getting your "new do." However, I am in my 40's and am just now learning that you need to take care of yourself and have some Mommy time, so you can relax and concentrate on you for a little while, so get a babysitter if you can!
When you book the appt. tell them what you are looking for. Bring a picture, if you can, of what hairstyle you are thinking of or like. Good Luck!
Their phone number is ###-###-####.

I love Julie at TGI Haircutters in the Randall's center at MoPac and Wm. Cannon. If you really want to be frugal you can always go to a beauty school. I've gone to Baldwin's on Lamar and a friend of mine went to one on I-35 and Wm Cannon. It takes a bit longer, but before they do anything you can all consult with the teachers. Haircuts are like $5 and the highlights I've gotten were around $35!!

My friend has a space she rents at the Court of Two Sisters off of Bee Cave Road. She's an excellent colorist and even teaches for Matrix. I don't know, can I post her name and number? Hi K.,
I got to Lauren Griffith at the LifeSpa in Lifetime Fitness. You do not need to be a member to go to the spa. She does a great job! Just the other day at Target someone stopped me and asked where I got my hair cut.
Good luck!

Ashley at Wet salon on south Congress. She is very reasonably priced, and did a great job on my hair. I attempted to use a box dye and she fixed it, it looks great now.
