Can't relate, but heard recently of a friend having a "Bladder tuck" for that reason. You should ask about it. I would!!!
Hi moms,
This is so embarrassing but I need to figure this out.
I have had 3 normal pregnancies and after this 3rd one, I have found I have serious bladder control issues. I have to wear a pad at all times and sneezing/coughing/running-really anything other than sitting still causes leaking. My OB gave me medication for an over active bladder but I don't think that this meets the criteria & it doesn't seem to be helping. On top of that, I don't think he really took this seriously.
So I have two questions. Has anyone else had this problem & what did you do? I feel very alone in this because it is so embarrassing. And does anyone have a recommendation for a doctor that they would feel comfortable discussing this problem with because I had no luck with my OB. I'm in Flower Mound but am willing to travel to see a good doctor.
Thank you so much!.

E.,
I think you would find better luck seeing an urologist. Look for two other posts on mamasource needing such (in search of an urgologist). Best of luck,

E., I've only had one child and this was happening to me. I mentioned it to my OB and he said that he didn't want to do anything about it right now in case I wanted to have more kids. He said they do surgery and use a sling to hold the bladder up or something like that. He never put me on medication, but did tell me to do the kegal exercises. His name is Dr. Joseph Valenti, but he is in Denton.
This could be due to a weakened pelvic floor, which is very common after pregnancies, especially if you don't work to strengthen it after each one. I would recommend post-natal yoga, which will do wonders to fix this and teach you how to "rehab" your body after pregnancy. Kegel exercises will do this and are very easy to do and you can do them anywhere, anytime. Just squeeze inside as if you were trying to stop peeing. Work up to holding it 10 seconds. I would really recommend Jenni Hulet. You can find her at jennihuletyoga.com. She teaches in Southlake and Lewisville. She really knows her stuff and is a wonderful teacher. You don't have to live with this problem and you most likely don't need medication. Pregnancy and childbirth are HARD on our bodies and Jenni can help you get back to the way it should be.
