I want some ideas on party games for 6 yr old girls n boys ....I have some ideas of pin the tail on donkey ,freeze dance ....can anyone share some games at home that is lots of fun .
Hi, This was fun for mine when they were younger. Get a can or box something they can't see thru, and put 6 or so items in and have each child guess what they feel. Have extra box ready incase some child guesses all early. Have each child guess until one child gets them all correct.
You could have one for boys and one for girls.
A game that was a hit at my daughters' b-day party was the orange race. You give each child a spoon and an orange. They have to race across the floor while keeping the orange on the spoon. It really is quite comical to witness.
Hi A., I just asked my two girls, who are 7 and 8, what party games they enjoy and they said musical chairs, bobbing for apples, and definitely hitting a pinata, and the German game "Topfschlagen" is brilliant. You put a treat under a saucepan. One kid is blindfolded and given a wooden spoon and has to look for the saucepan by banging the spoon on the ground while the other kids yell "hot" or "cold". A similar game to bobbing for apples that the German kids here do is to tie mini pretzels or any other little chips or candies to a string and have them lined up hanging on a broom stick, that you will be holding above them, and you have all the kids line up and they have to reach up with their necks, no hands, and try and grab a treat. Good luck with the party, no matter what I'm sure the kids will have a blast. P.S. Just a thought, I did learn from many years of throwing kids parties, they don't want to play too many games, they just want to play with eachother.
one that is always fun and bring the laughter is forming two lines and putting an orange under your chin and passing to the next person without use of hands, some kids are very ticklish... other is have spoons and see how many beans you can walk across the room with your spoon without dropping it in so many minutes or until everyone is finish
In England we play a game called Pass the Parcel, and we have always included it at our kids' parties. You get a small prize and wrap it in at least 8 layers of paper, alternating colors. You have all the kids sit in a circle, play music, and they pass the parcel around. When the music stops the child holding the parcel removes one layer of paper. The winner is the one that reveals the prize. It's good for calming them down when they get a bit too rowdy, and you can always have extra prizes on hand to keep the fun going later. We have sometimes 'rigged' the game so a child that is feeling left out or something gets the prize.
"Don't eat Sheila (or Tom or whatever name)"
We played this at my daughter's princess party. We said "Don't eat the princess".
You have a grid similar to a Bingo board. In each square is a picture of "Sheila" (or Tom or The Princess or whatever). You place a candy on each picture. One child goes into another room. Everyone else decides which square is Sheila. The child comes back and tries to find Sheila. When he/she does everyone else shouts "DON'T EAT SHEILA". The child gets to keep that piece of candy and someone else gets a turn.
Also, Bingo, Twister, have a treasure hunt or a scavenger hunt.
Musical chairs, duck duck goose, bingo, simon says, scavenger hunt and hot potatoe,my daughter loved those games as well as the other 6 year olds. They had a BLAST! hope this helps.
Bubble Wrap Stomp: Just get bubble wrap (pretty inexpensive) and let the kids have a ball stomping on it.
Don't let the Balloon Drop: Fill a bunch of balloons and have the kids try to keep them all in the air by tapping them with their hands.
Mystery GOO: Take a number of gooy items, and put one each in a bag or box, where no one can see what's inside. Then, pass the box around the kids, who are sitting in a circle, and have them feel what's inside. After everyone has had a chance to feel an item, have them guess what it was. We usually do 6-8 items. Ideas include cooked spagetti, olives, play doh, store-bought slime, "hairy" kiwis, etc. We usually keep a box of wipes handy for this one!
