Hey,
If you are willing to travel you could go to Jump on It a place down I-15 close to Orem and Provo. It is free for kids under 3 and it has a ton of trampolines and some bouncy houses too. I love the Library too. Good luck.
I am looking for more places to take my 2 and a half year old. We have already been to the Aquarium and the Discovery zone this week, and I feel like we go to the same places a lot. We go to a the zoo a lot too, but right now it is so darn cold(and smoggy)!
Any ideas on malls with play places?
I've also heard about places with jump houses and other toys, but I don't know where they are.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I try to go do something every day so we are not home bound. We do a playgroup but that is only every other week for a couple of hours.
Thank you!
I ended up putting together a list with ideas from women in my moms group and from information on the internet. If anyone wants a copy send me your e-mail address. I couldn't find a good list out there anywhere that really showed all of the places to go. There is one website that just had places that cost money on it, and ignored all of the free or government sponored things to do in the city.

Find the closest Library and find out when they do story time. Generally they have a few, geared to different ages. They even have activities related to the story afterwards. It's free, it involves her in literacy and a love of books, and it's something different every week. While you're there, you can also check out a few books and even a video or too for things to do at home the rest of the week.
I don't know what the Discovery Zone is, but if it isn't the same as the Discovery Gateway Museum (children's museum at the Gateway) that's a great place.
Kangaroo Zoo in North Salt Lake is a blast for little ones that age. It's on Redwood Road just past the refineries. Indoor pools are also great in the winter. Just last night we had a blast with our 2 year old at the rec center.
Jungle Jim's in Midvale is a fun indoor park. What a cute mom to go on field trips!
we are also looking for more things to do. this past weekend we went to the discovery gateway and that was fun, but we need more things to do with our almost 2 year old. In the summer we would just go to a park everyday, but it's too cold for that. May have to try the aquarium, haven't been out there because it's kind of far from Bountiful where we live. He loves going to the rec center here in bountiful, the water is only to his waist in the deepest part so he can play with everything and there are guns and what not, well priced too. but we haven't been to that because he has a 6 month little sister and she was too young, until probably now.
Here are a few ideas:
Southtown Mall has a play place. It is kind of small but it might be worth a try.
We really like the dinasaur exhibit at Thanksgiving Point.
There is a bounce house in Sandy on the west side of the freeway. I don't know the name and am not sure if they do individuals. I have only been there for birthday parties.
Another person mentioned swimming. South Jordan Rec Center (10800 South and Redwood) and Dimple Dell (10600 and 800 East) are both great.
When the weather is nice, my son loves Wheeler Farm.
There is also the museum of natural history at the University of Utah. I haven't been for years but they do kids events.
You can also visit a local fire station. Most will give you a tour if they have time.
I hope this helps. I am also always looking for new ideas.
Have fun!!
