hi M.! eh...i wouldn't call the traffic the greatest, but there are definitely worse spots! i live in desoto, but pretty much right on the corner of desoto, duncanville and cedar hill...decedarville as i like to call it! i'm right off of 67 and main street. and i work in the heart of downtown dallas. i *try* to leave around 7 and usually get to work around 7:35 or so. i know the va hospital is not nearly as far as i have to go, so it probably wouldn't be too bad for him. 67 is a mess until you pass i-20. it's only 2 lanes and then you have people from 20 trying to merge onto 67. so, it's a little slow going from cedar hill, for about 6-7 miles or so. but after that, it's decent. good luck on finding a place to live!! hope this helps!

Actually they are not that far fromone another However coming from Cedar Hill in the morning you will have to take 67 which is always packed I can tell u a detour route which will eliminate a lot of traffic which is take 67 North to I-20East From 20 East exit Lancaster Road and turn South on Lancaster and you will drive down maybe 5-10 minutes and the VA is on the right.... That is from Cedar Hill

Hi M.. The downtown traffic unfortunantly is always terrible unless you go extremely early in the morning. And by early i mean before or around 6am. After that eerything seems to back up. The reason I know this is because me mother lives in desoto and travels that way every morning to work.

Hi M.,
I live in Duncanville. My husband drives north to Richardson M-F so he knows the commute. I have lived here over 15 years. If things are flowing the drive is only about 15 minutes North or South bound. There are slowdowns on that stretch during rush hour which can delay it to 25-30 minutes. There is an HOV lane. This side of town has MUCH less congested in general compared to North Dallas. If you want some more info about the area, I'd be glad to help. I'm a mom with 4 kids (8-1 year)

Hi M.,

I work at the VA hospital and up until this last year I lived in Arlingtion. If your husband was thinking of commuting on I-20 to get to the hospital, from the Cedar Hill/Duncanville, the commute is not bad at all. He could also get there from 67 and I-35 with little to no problems as well. There are sometimes accidents that can be bothersome but everyday normal commute is definately bareable. Hope this helps!

Depending on the time, the commute will be okay. You have the normal traffic between the 7:00 and 8:00 hour. From Duncanville it's better because your commute on the freeway is shorter. I live in Desoto and I drove into downtown Dallas for a number of years. A normal commute is 20-30 minutes. Since he is not going to be traveling into downtown I say you don't have anything to worry about. Good Luck!

Hi, I live in DeSoto, which borders Cedar Hill. If you live in Cedar Hill, you'd have to go up 67 to 20 over to 35, which is probably a 20-25 minute commute. If you move to DeSoto, you can hop right on 35 and its about 10 minutes up the road. I drive 35 into downtown Dallas every day. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Unforetunately, there is normally quite a bit of traffic going north on 67 toward downtown during morning rush hour. I would still encourage you to move to the Cedar Hill area. It is growing and people seem to get more home for their money in the southern suburbs. One option to avoid the traffic is to take I-20 east to 75 north. This will be a longer distance, but shorter commute (no real traffic).

If you are referring to the VA hospital on Lancaster road I believe, you don't even go into downtown. It is roughly a 15 minute commute depending on exactly where in Duncanville/Cedar Hill you live. I live on that side of town and I just love it, it is so pretty! Good luck on your move.

There is traffic to get out of Cedar Hill or Duncanville especially if you travel on HWY 67. It only has two lanes but when you get into Dallas city limits it increases to three. Since you are going to the VA, there are numerous routes that you can take without even getting on the HWY.

I live in Cedar Hill and work at Children's which is also about ten miles south of Downtown, I leave around 7:00 to 7:30 in the morning and it takes 45 minutes.
