A typical incident and was wondering if anyone knows how to get the Ink stains out of your dryer. My son left an ink pen in his pocket and made it to the dryer and got ink not only on my dryer but also the clothes. I am not to worried about the clothes they can be replaced but I hate seeing Ink in my dryer. Any suggestions on getting the ink stain out.

What can I do next?

try using hairspray. just spray it on , wait a few seconds and wipe it off. you can also use it on the clothes. I've seen haispay get ink out of a suede leather couch with no leftover marks.

My husband leaves pens in his shirt sometimes! I've gone through this many times. Alcohol or "Goo Gone" works better than hairspray for me. One time it was so bad, that didn't work, so for the dryer, my husband used automotive rubbing compound. That took the remaining ink off.

Good luck!

Hair Spray will get ink out of most anything. I use it on clothes all the time - I'm sure it would work on the dryer also. On clothes I just spray alittle at a time until the ink disappears and really bad spots you could blot in between and rewash the items. Also, if you have ever dropped your Mascara Wand or Lipstock onto your clothes and have stains left behind - Hair Spray usually works for that also.

Hi , I am not sure if we can say brand name item things on here but if you have never tried using oxy clean spray. I use it on a lot of things. You can use it on white clothes too. spray the clothing let it stand for a while and then come back and wash it.Repeat as needed.
As for the dryer, you can use oxy clean spray in there too, but make sure to wash it out thouroughly so you don't bleach your dark clothes. works on molds and mildew too. you can use the powder to make a paste in some cases.

Not sure about the dryer but airosol hair spray works wonders on clothing. Just spray the ink very well and let it sit for a little while and then wash it.

Have you tried saturating it with hair spray and rubbing it out with a damp sponge? Not sure if it will work, but spraying hairspray on the clothing stains and then rubbing them well and throwing them in the washing machine works, so it's worth a try.

This should work on both the dryer and the clothes. Aerosol hairspray will dissovle ink.

For the dryer, spray directly on a spot of ink, and immediately wipe it off. It may take a few sprays on each spot, but it should come off.

For the clothes, spray the hairspray directly onto the ink stain on the clothes. Rub the fabric together a bit, and while it is still wet, immediately submerge into the wash water. Launder as usual. This should work for most of the clothes, however, some synthetics may have a permanent shadow from the stain.

Good Luck!

Rubbing Alcohol...but be careful sticking your head in there with the alcohol fumes. Pour some on a paper towel and rub the sides of your dryer...it may take a minute or two to loosen it up but it will get most of it out!

(I've had to do this 3 or 4 times!!)

PS The reason hairspray works is because of all the alcohol in it...but it's way less sticky to use the alcohol straight!! LOL

There are those stain removers, all different types of stains, in most stores in the laundry section. Otherwise a fabric store would have it.
One of them IS for ink. Try that on a cloth and see if it'll take it off.

My son did the same thing. Put hairspray on the dryer stains, wait for a few minutes and wipe them off. It may take a couple of applications. Also works on the clothes. Good luck!

Spraying hair spray directly on the ink stains, and then blotting with a clean rag or paper towel is somewhat effective. By all means do not dry the item in the clothes dryer until you have treated it repeatedly, as the heat will set the stain.
