We had an ink pen explode in the dryer about 9 months ago. I thought everything was cleaned out, but in about 1 out of 20 loads, everything comes out ruined. How can 19 loads be good, 1 bad and the next 19 good? How do I get it out so I can quit buying new clothes? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!

What can I do next?

That is so wierd! Especially since not every load is affected. I know that rubbing alcohol will remove ink from hard surfaces, what about wiping down the inside of the dryer to remove it? Just a thought, good luck!

Could be some of that ink got down below the drum, through the holes and just spurts out now and then. I'd have someone come inspect it and fix the problem.

It is the alcohol in hairspray that removes ink...so rubbing alcohol will do, and is much less sticky! I use a rag soaked with alcohol (careful of the fumes with your head in the dryer...LOL) and it comes pretty clean. Also, I would take the back off and see if the ink is somewhere below the drum that you cant see otherwise.

Good luck!

I always just use hair spray on the areas in question and when put in the washer and wash as usual.

Wow. I had a sharpie go through the dryer and it only ruined the first load so I didn't have too much to worry about. I really don't know what you should do, but that is very weird.

hairspray can remove the ink that is on the metal drum. can't give you any advice though if the ink is deeper inside the dryer somewhere. Good luck!

Try cleaning the spots in the dryer with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. This works for ink on virtually any non porous surface.
Hope this works for you
