Is Gymboree Classes Worth It?

I take my daughter to Gymboree class in Southlake. We have been there since for about 8 months now. She has a few sensory intergration problems and social interaction problems as well and this has been very fun for her.

I am a SAHM to only one child as well...so she doesnt go to daycare and play with a lot of kids. I thought this would be good for her and addition to her Physical Therapy.

She has a BLAST! She loves her instructor and we even had her 2nd Birthday party there and she had so much fun.

As far as cleaning the equipment I do not know that is something you have to ask them. They do require parents to wear socks (the kids dont have to). There is also Hand Sanitizer avail when you leave as well as baby wipes. There is a bathroom avail stocked with diapers and wipes.

every so often they give Gymbo Bucks that you can use at Gymboree.com or the Clothing store itself. $25 off of a $50 purchase. Occasionaly they give out free gifts. You can also go three other times during the week at the FREE PLAY times.

My DD loves it and we have a good time there.

My children loved Gymboree. I know the Lewisville location was extremely clean. I am sure you will be able to attend a trial class. Also, Kindermusik is outstanding. Check it out. They are wonderful. You can log onto Kindermusik.com for a class near you.

My son is about to be 2 and he has been doing Gymboree since 16 months old. He did the music class for months, and now the music and play class. These classes are the only way he is exposed to other children, and it has been great for him. Had I known about it, I would have been doing it since infancy. I personally go the Plano location, and I watch the teacher each week wipe the toys with sanitation wipes before giving them to the children. And my son has not yet caught one virus or infection since going. I love it, and we'll continue to do it till he's too old.

You can attend a class for free to see if you like it. I think all of the classes places do this like Gymboree, Little Gym, etc. Personally, I hated it. I hated the (scary) clown. I hated the activities. Etc. Etc. It seemed to me that we would be paying good money for stuff we already did at home. That's just me though and I know lots of people who have loved it. You and your baby may love it, but you won't know unless you try a class.

Personally, I prefered playgroups for my son. He was very active and liked playing with new toys, etc. He was just too active for Gymboree or Kindermusik (which was torture for us both). Good luck!

My daughter is 13 now but we attended Little Gym, Gymboree and Kindermusic. I would say they are worth it. I met other moms that became friends as well.

I took my son to Gymboree classes starting when he was 6 months old until he was 18 months old. The Lewisville one was NOT clean. I saw a child vomit all over the floor, & the mom just cleaned up while the child was allowed to run all over the place. The staff never asked her to move the child to the bathroom while he vomited (she just left him in the play area while he vomited all over the floor), & they never asked them to leave even though he was clearly sick. I cancelled our classes there immediately. I also called the main Gymboree office, & they were so upset that that situation happened.

I would try another gym. They have infant classes.

You might also check out your local rec center and see if the city where you live offers gym classes. It would prob. be less expensive, too.

Gymboree is 100% worth it. My only caveat is that each Gymboree Play and Music because each is a franchise can be very different. Gymboree Play and Music Vernon Hills in Illinois at Westfield Mall is by far one of the best in the area, if not the nation. It's very clean and beautiful with highly trained teachers. For those that think it's a waste to spend $15 on a class because "you can do this at home", simply realize that you could say that for any class. But a class is about socialization, group play, learning from the teacher, learning parenting skills and spending quality time with your child with no home distractions. Gymboree is a school but it looks simply like a play place, because that is how children at this age learn.
