Is There a Generic Huggies?

We have always used Huggies diapers but I was wondering if there is a generic brand that is the same? My son is allergic to Pampers and the only other diaper we have tried was Huggies. We have been scared to try anything else because of his reaction to them. We are about to have a second baby and I am trying to find ways to save money so I thought I would investigate other brands of diapers. Any recommendations for something similar to Huggies and works for little boys would be greatly appreciated.

Using cloth diapers is a great way to save money and our landfills. Look into it. It's not as hard and complicated as you might think it is.

Let me share some insider info.:-) Huggies makes the Kirkland diaper for Costco. As other posters commented, they are exactly the same as the Huggies Supreme.

I second the Kirkland diapers. Exactly like Huggies minus the pictures. Costco also has coupons for them here and there that they send out which will make the box cheaper.

You could try luvs, I have always had good luck with them. My daughter had to switch to the Seventh Generation brand due to bad eczema and they work great. Order them from diapers.com by the case and they are very reasonable. they have lots of other brands and baby stuff too. Orders over $49 ship free and usually are delivered within 1-2 days. No tax either! Here is a link. http://www.diapers.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?product... They have a promotion right now of $1.50 off a case of huggies and/or $5 off for first time customers. Check them out.

You might consider cloth too - that would get you away from all the chemicals they use in disposable diapers. Plus it can save you quite a lot of money.

The Kirkland brand from Costco is almost exactly like the Huggies Supreme. (The Huggies Supreme has better elastic on the sides and a better fit than the regular Huggies.) I've been using Kirkland for years (except at night, when I use Huggies Overnights). Costco also sells the regular Huggies (not the Supreme) for almost the same price of the Kirkland diaper.

Is he anywhere close to potty training yet? Our son is 2 years and 5 months and we just started training him. We have another one due to arrive in late August, so I know how you feel about trying to save money. We have been using the White Cloud pull ups from Walmart and they work really well. We prefer them to actual Pull Ups or Pampers Easy Ups, and they are cheaper. Our son uses 1-2 pull ups a day and one diaper at night, so it is saving us a ton of money. We also wanted him to be trained before his sister got here. If he's not ready yet, do you think it was the perfume in the Pampers that he was allergic to? That's usually the case. Luvs has a lot of perfume in them also, so even though they worked great for us, he might be allergic to those too. You could try the new Target brand Up & Up, they are very cheap, but will not hold as much as Huggies do. Parent's Choice from Walmart are really cheap too. I have tried every diaper out there, and Huggies absorbs the best of all of them, for boys anyway. You might have to change the generic diapers more often, but they are way cheaper, so they will still probably cost less. Good luck!
