Is This Strange?

My son got his first two bottom teeth very early at 3 1/2 months. He has been teething every since with his top gums (always rubbing them). He is now 7 months and nothing, still no top teeth at all just pink gums up there. I thought they come in right after the bottom two.

What can I do next?

Nope. There is supposed to be a certain order that teeth come in, but in reality all kids are different and not everybody follows that pattern.
Some kids teeth much earlier than others and many get their teeth in a different order than whatever is considered normal.
Don't worry about it!
Good luck!

we have a strange teether at our house too. My youngest daughter got her bottom 2 teeth and then kept acting like she was teething and I also expected the top 2, only to find out that she had one molar and was getting 3 more. So maybe look around and see if he has any other teeth that you weren't expecting. I did talk to her dentist and he said that the order they come in at isn't a problem, just that they have them al and enough room for them. But he also said that the later they come in (she got hers later than "normal") the later that they lose them as they get the permanent ones.

My daughter was just a fews shy of her first birthday before her first tooth came in...and it wasn't the bottom teeth. Her top teeth came in first. Every kid is different.

Usually they do, but not every kid in right on schedule. Our son got his first tooth at nine months (he almost walked before he got a tooth!), but then got two top teeth. The second bottom didn't come in for another three months or so. It made for an adorable smile, and it goes to show that there isn't always a time table for things.

Seems like they teeth off and on until 2 years old - it varies when and how much it bothers them.

I've got lots of friends with lots of young kids, and as far as I can tell, there is no such thing as normal when it comes to baby teeth coming in. Timing of 1st teeth can range from 3 1/2 months to 12 months, and timing of all subsequent teeth is just as varied. While most babies get their two bottom teeth first, with the top following, I've seen babies who got their incisors first, as well as babies who have only four teeth for over 8 months before the others start coming in. The only thing certain is that they'll all come in eventually. So don't fret about it and just enjoy your baby's cute smile as it is.

My son was the same age when he got the first 2... the top 2 are little white buds like RIGHT THERE... I hope they come in sooner than 7 months! I know 11 month olds with NO teeth... I wouldn't worry about it yet :)

Not strange at all. His top teeth will come in. Be patient.

I had read that teeth timing was all genetic, so I figured that my second would be just like my first (my first got his bottom teeth by 5 months followed by a steady succession of of more and more teeth and he had them all by his first birthday). But my second has been totally different. He got his first at 7 months and still only has the two. He is 9 1/2 months now and I see now signs of getting new teeth anytime soon.
They'll come. With my first son it was only the top 2 and bottom 2 that came in by them selves. The rest came in in sets of 4 or 8. So maybe that will be your case too!
