Hi, A.! That's normal in pregnancy. I had the same thing and couldn't make it go away until pregnancy was over. I've learned that itching is due to the stretching of the skin. There's not much to do about a lot of things that happen in pregnancy. But try different lotions. Maybe you'll get lucky and find something that works for you.

Hey, honey. That is your skin stretching. DO NOT ITCH!!!!! I know it is hard but if you itch it you will cause sores and screatch marks. Trust me, you dont want those. My sister itched like crazy with all (3) her pregnancies. She got sores and horrible stretch marks that wont go away. I didnt itch mine and only have stretch marks on my upper thighs cause I was to lazy to put lotion there once I got real big. The lotion I used was pure Cocoa Butter. You can find it at any Wal-Mart. It is in with the lotions. Try taking a bath with some kind of milk bath stuff.... I cant remember what it is called at the moment but it is by the Calgone bath salts stuff. It has a cow on it. The doctor says not to take a bath but you can as long as it is not to hot. You only want to let your body soak, so dont be in there for to long. Heck, there might even be a shower soap thing as well. Hopefully this has helped. Email me @ ____@____.com if you have any questions. I will be glad to help. :) Good Luck.

I got really itchy torwards the end too I think it has something to do with circulation i helped me to move around when it started happening. I also had certain spots that because I was itching were getting blotchy and it helped when I put benadryll there. Don't know anything about twitching thought sorry. And don't worry it is hard at times but the strength comes and when you hold your precious baby in your arms for the first time and everytime after things just come together. You will do great, congratulations and good luck!!! We are all a little scared even if for different reasons but the mommy strength kicks just when you need it too!!

hi there, sorry to hear of your problem. But this may just be a seasonal alergy. Have you tried benadryl lotion, tablets,or elixer. Or oatmeal baths. try these one of these may help.

A.,

The same thing happened to me about 8 months into my pregnancy and I found out that I had coleostasis (sp?) or Itching Mom Syndrome as it is sometimes called. Check with your doctor when you go next and see if that is what it is. There are other explanations for the itching as well, so just check with your doctor.

Hi A.,
I'm not sure what your itching could be you should talk to your OB, but with my pregnancy I had the normal itching and I just used coco butter to keep from itching......but what I really want to say is

Even though it seems a little scary now.....once you see that beautiful little girls face all your worries will seem to whither away. We as women, as mothers just know.......I don't know if that makes any since to you but, what you don't know today the day that baby is born you will.

If you ever need someone to talk to you and need to ask questions this is what we are all here for, you have so many ears listening right now or shall I say eyes :0)

You are going to be a great mother......May God Bless you with a wonderful delivery and a Beautiful Healthy baby girl...

It sounds like you might have PUPS. It is an itchy rash from pregnancy that can be very bothersome. Have you spoken to your doctor about medication for this condition? They can give you things to help with the itching, but until you deliver it probably will not go away.

i had a similar problem while pregnant with my son. if its the same as what i had....then there isn't much you can do until you deliver your baby....and then you'll be amazed at how quickly it clears up. my doc had told me that its a mixture of hormones and pressure from the placenta. to be safe, talk to your doctor about it, see what they say. until then, try some calamine lotion and see if that helps.

in some pregnant women, not seen very often, one can get what is similar to an allergic rash. It ends up being a reaction to the baby itself and will go away soon after you deliver. I have seen it once before on a customer of mine at the pharmacy I worked at. Good luck and try to not itch too much, you can check with your OB and see if you can use a benadryl cream/gel or hydrocortisone.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing but my mom does something like this and it's anxiety. She actually itches herself until she bleeds and gets scabs...then she picks the scabs. It's HORRIBLE! I don't know if yours has anything to do with this, but it's just a thought.

I would call your physician. You could be having an alergic reaction to something.

A., I too had terrible itching which started in my 3rd month. Long story short, most of my Doctors ignored my symptoms but after a friend did some reseach on line, I found I had a condition called Colistasis. Have your doctor run a simple blood test to check your billirubin levels. Typically this condition shows up much earlier in pregnacy and twitching isnt usually a symptom, but check it none the less. Good luck and God Bless.
