Since I cut my hair to a shoulder-length bob, I have noticed that one side curls under and the other curls up. How about yours? I also have some crazy cowlicks on the top. Lots of flat ironing going on over here LOL.
My right side always flips in a weird direction. It's been that way since I was young and I'm now in my 50's.
I've just learned to work with it.
My hair will curl slightly when shorter because shorter hair isn't weighed down by a long length of hair.
Much like guinia pigs - people have a natural nap to their hair.
Some will have swirls when the hair won't lay down - and others have hair that grows in a smoother pattern.
When I decided I wanted longer hair - I stopped all heat on it - no hot air dryers, no curling irons, stopped using commercial dye (it was frying my hair) - and when I stopped doing things that damaged it - I could grow it to my waist.
It curls now if I put it up while it's slightly damp - it dries that way, and is curly after I let it down.
yes. Mine is really noticeable when I have bobs. The way I got around it was to huge those really fat hair brushes (2) and would dry, roll, leave brush in and then do the other side with the other brush. It was just enough 'curl' to force my hair to curl under on both sides. Stayed all day. That's how I would dry it.
It is not noticeable when longer so that's what I've grown it back out to.
I have major cowlick right in my bangs. I have to have long sideswept bangs to weigh it down.
Flat iron works in a pinch!
My hair used to be completely straight. Back in the late seventies/eighties when we feathered our hair (lol!), I had one side that would feather perfectly and the other side I had to fight with to go the right way and use tons of hairspray. If I did not curl it, one side would flip up and the other side down. After I had kids, my hair decided to be wavy. I don't know why it changed, but I'm glad it did since I can just wash and let it air dry and it will have some wave, curl and bounce.
I got my hair straightened and leave it in a ponytail pretty much all the time. I also use a lot of air gel and hair spray.Thank god, my daughter's got my hubby's straight hair!
YES!!!! And it's driving me crazy. About to get it cut short (it's a chin length bob now). I use the fat round brush too, so it curls under, but I feel like it looks like a bell, wide at the bottom. Weird. I've had bobs forever, it's a recent event that my hair curls up, it's normally straight as a pin. Menopause side effect lol?
LOL yes! My right side wings out and my left side curls under, so it's all pointing to the right. And I've got cowlicks galore too, which show up when my hair is too short for the weight of itself to counteract them. I either have to blow dry with a round brush, correct with flat iron or wear a ponytail or bun. No wash-and-go for me!
Yes! My hair, both sides, have a curl to the left, so one side under, the other side is a flip. Right now it's long enough that it doesn't matter, but when it's about chin-length, it can look pretty goofy :)
my sister in law cuts hair and i have had haircuts go both ways so i asked her about it. its the way its cut. she knows i prefer a curl under and makes sure to cut it so it naturally does this. if i wanted to be different she could cut it so that it curls outward.
i have fine straight hair that just lays limp. i also have a cowlick but since the hair is so limp its is not bothersome.
Yes AND it's curlier in some places than others and frizzy in some places. I don't iron it bc it turns to hard crunchy straw even when I use protective serums/sprays. It easily dries out. Now it's over half grey and it no longer will hold color longer than 2 weeks. I'm the only one of my friends who is grey this young. It usually looks pretty crappy.
Mine doesn't, but one of my kids has a crazy double cowlick. His hair has to be really short for it to not be noticeable. I suppose he could grow it out long so the weight pulls it flat, but the middle-length is mad-scientist hair that can not be tamed
