Meeting my now husband on my first day of school. I wasw a junior and he was a senior.
We didn't start dating until after I graduated. SOOOO glad we didn't date IN high school otherwise we'd wouldn't have stayed together.
Mine is my group of friends kidnapped me the morning of my birthday.
They came over early before I got up and took me to school in my pajamas.
Eeek. I wasn't allowed to bring my makeup, change of clothes etc.
Very funny but embarassing.
My poor mom was trying to "warn" me by vacuuming late at night the night before.
I couldn't figure out why in the heck she would do that.
And she kept saying why don't you curl your hair etc. I was like "what?".
Later she brought my curling iron & make up to school but my friends said "oh come on now you can't go and ruin the fun now".
It was fun and funny so I didn't.
I enjoyed all of your stories. While I enjoyed high school, boy oh boy I couldn't wait to graduate.
I loved being independent and able to make my own decisions about college, where I lived, getting a job etc.
Life is good! :)

Graduation day..I hated high school!!
LAUGHING. Just lots and lots of laughing. We had some hilarious people in our little group.
My parents never went to any of my soccer games. Then one game in senior year, mom showed up! For some reason, I saw her in the crowd and that rocked my world....as nonchalant as I tried to be about it. I remember taking in the sights, breathing in the cold air, watching the lights and thinking this would be the last time I'd play at The Pit. I was focused on stealing a ball from someone, and tried to scare them off by charging, but she didn't leave the ball.....so I hit the ground and did the most beautiful slide tackle ever. It made a loud low "BOOM" that echoed as my foot hit the ball, the girl was flying over me and I ducked down, leaning on my straight leg, and she had time mid-air to say "Oh God" flipping over me. I slid under her, landed on my feet, ball at my foot, and made an assist (my friend scored). My mom went ballistic. I could hear her going crazy over everyone else which was awesome. She did go to every single game after that even though it was recreational and not school. She still talks about that "boom", even at my wedding, lol.
My principal, who I was pretty close with (was in her office a lot, lol) shook everyone's hands as they got their diploma, but when it was my time she gave me a high five, hug, kissed my cheek, and said "Get 'em Spider" (my nickname).
I think those were my favorite, which is strange. They weren't the big events or the crazy stunts. But they stick out the most.
Mine comes from playing softball...every year we had the same tournament that was 3 hours away. We would have a fairly long break in between games and we found this open field and decided to play backwards baseball. We put our gloves on the opposite hands and batted from the opposite side of the plate...the whole team had a freaking blast playing! It was a great team builder...we just had fun together. That started my freshman year and in the years to follow, we actually had 'fans'. Our parents and coaches would sit on the hill above us and watch and cheer...it was awesome!! I will never forget that!
Graduation. I could not WAIT to get out of there!!!!! Project Graduation night was pretty fun too---but I was so ready to be out of school and never look back.

My fav well here it is........the P. E. teacher asked my to cut my fingernails so I could play basketball. Well I was proud that I had stopped bitting and really didn't want to do that. So I asked her if she would cut her nails and she said no. So I figured why should I? Well she gave a time limit then she was sending me to the VP (whom I knew cuz my mom worked at the school). When I didn't cut my nails she sent me to the VP and I explained my story and she agreed with me but said that my grade would reflect my decision..........however, this was the first 10 weeks and it didn't go on the final report and I knew I could work it off. So went back to the class and told the teacher and boy was she mad!! (Forgot to say that I offered to tape, use gloves, or be referee; but she wanted them cut) I got a D for the first ten weeks but ended up with a C in the class so it worked out for me. BTW..............who really cares now RIGHT!
I LOVED High School!!!
There's not just one memory - I have MANY fond memories!!!
I keep in touch with many of the girl friends I had in school - still! YAHOO!!
We did something like what happened to you to my girl friend, Paige, we blind folded her, stuck her in my mom's car (she drove) and we took her to Denny's for breakfast (no make up,etc) and then to school and then to Chuck E Cheese's at lunch - our parents let us out early - we had to go for AT LEAST two periods....it was fun!!!
I hated high school. I was a "good student", National Honor Society, thick glasses, eating disorder throughout, no dates, few friends, couldn't wait to get out. I still have nightmares, often. I liked summers but they were incredibly lonely living on a farm. Thank heavens for books.
I love my life now!
i would skip my classes by stealing up into the agriculture rooms attic with a few friends unti lthe teacher left and went to lunch or out to the farm with anothe rclass. then we'd climb down and have a blast in the shop or in the classroom. aw....memories :)
