When my son was little and trouble, I just brough him in the bathroom with me. The door stopper, flushing the toilet, flicking the lights... and even some "real" toys kept him perfectly happy.
After he wasn't little, and was a different kind of trouble, no worries.
I'm not awake until I've had my shower and gotten my warpaint on for the day.
When he was little, though, I would dry my HAIR (as in wash and dry it) at night. I have curly curly curly PITA hair. I blow it out straight all winter or I get sick (those who say a wet head won't make you sick obviously don't a- have wet hair for 36-48 hours, b- live in 40 degree weather; aka PERFECT for a whole host of nasty germs and molds, c- spent a significant portion of the day outside, and d- understand that when you lower your body temperature, as you do with a cold head for extended periods of time, you've just given yourself 'exposure' and reeeeeally invited every nasty germ to take up residence while your immune system is low functioning, and d- haven't read the PARAMETERS of studies which claim otherwise. Military studies, of people who DO spend signifcant time outdoors in crappy weather are totally DIFFERENT from studies conducted in laboratory settings.)
Anyhow. I digress. If I don't have dry hair in the winter, I catch pneumonia. So I HAVE to dry it. which means about an hour of my time. Which means I would do it after my son was in bed!!! :D
