My birthday is coming up on March 31, and my husband's is on April 7. Any ideas for celebrating our birthdays together?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your great answers! We don't have my boys the weekend in between our birthdays, so we're going to go to a museum and then go out to dinner.

My suggestion, if you can get away for the night and at least one day, is take a road trip ending in some kind of activity - a hike, speluncking, water park, whatever you guys are interested in - and stay the night in a bed and breakfast or even camp. Its going to be gorgeous later next week. Have fun!

My husband and I have the same birthday (what are the odds?). Usually we put the kids with friends and go out to a nice dinner together, and maybe a movie or show. We have also gone out to dinner with groups of friends, and one year we went to a college football game (for you, maybe baseball, or...?). I think it's really fun to celebrate our birthday together, but my husband jokingly says he never gets to feel like it's "his" special day.

This year, I am going to try and get a side-by-side couples massage at a spa. Maybe that will help my husband feel like it's "his" special day, too, with some pampering.

I'm curious to see what answers you get! I will learn from those, I'm sure.

Happy birthday(s)!

Well, the question is, are you celebrating just the two of you, just you and your kids, or the whole fam? My husband is a twin, and their stepfather's birthday is on the same day as theirs. We usually have a big barbeque, with one cake for the step dad and one cake for the boys. With all the brothers, step sisters, and kids, most of the cake gets eaten, and we all have a good time. If you dont want to do something so big, I think the other ladies had good ideas.

My husband and I have birthdays 10 days apart. We celebrate whichever one lands on or closest to a weekend on a date to a nice place and the other one we do something more casual. His landed on a Saturday so we went to a nice restaurant without the kids. My landed on a Tuesday we went out to a casual dinner (Red Robin) with the kids. That way we don't spend too much money and if I am going to go to fine dining (over $100) I want to spread it out throughout the year not within two weeks.
