Try getting some videos. Then, you can learn some moves, see it you like it, and if you do... THEN you can go and pay for a class and not have to worry about looking like such a newbie! I LOVE exercise videos!
Hi Mom's, just recently a friend of mine told me about kickboxing. And got my interest peaked!!! Where would I try to find beginner classes??? I'm so interested in trying this out. Plus I also heard it's major awesome for the body. I just think it would be so cool to get involved in the class. But likeI said it needs to be very beginner!!!! Thanks so much for the help mom's.... Have a great day even if it's pouring where you are!!!!
Well after I've tried looking around I kinda came up to a dead end....I know if I take a class at a gym I would need to get a memebership and right it's not a option. But I will still and try to look around and see what I come up with and when I do I'll let you mom's know where to go... Thanks for all the responses

I don't know about kickboxing, but I take private boxing lessons from a former boxer and I LOVE IT! He works out of a small gym on McKinney Ave, called Workout 101. It's an intense 30 mins of cardio and strength training and he will work with whatever fitness level you are at. Send me a private msg with your contact info and I can put you in touch with him or vice versa. I told my neighbor about it and now she's hooked!
I love the class at Lifetime fitness in Plano. I did it all summer until we moved and stopped the gym membership for a while. Have fun, L.
Good Morning
I take my kickboxing class at the gym, but if you dont want to join a gym just do a search. my sister in law takes one at her sons karate place. i dont know that there is such a thing as a beginner class, what they do is start out with the basic moves and build on. they will do a couple of sets the same way and then start a new set of different things its just a matter of remembering
Kickboxing is one of the best classes out there. I've been doing it on and off for a few years now and just recently started again. I have a membership at Lifetime Fitness in Plano and some of the instructors are wonderful there. Do not be afraid of coming to a class, there is always somebody that is advanced but it is usually pretty simple to keep up with the movements, you just don't do it as hard...the better you get the better "form" you get doing the routine, but they are usually pretty simple ones.
Kickboxing is a lot like boxing (jabs, uppercuts, etc)and kicking of course, Cardio Kickboxing is the same with more kicking and a little bit more speed and Kickboxing Jam has more dancing and much more speed. If you ask me is really fun but really challenging. My favorite is Cardio Kickboxing.
Some karate and dancing places offer this class as well.
Good luck!
