just posted about ear infections- now I have a question about kids allergies.
My son has not had any allergies, until THIS year in Arizona. BAHM! itchy watery eyes, sinus infections, ear,
antibiotics unfortunately.
What are you doing to control your childs allergies? I have given him benadryl and have also tried others.
They make him agitated and hyper.
They also wanted him to do the steroid nose spray. He cannot get into the allergist until june. He goes to an ENT friday.
Has to stay home from school again from feeling sick from them.
Any suggestions? Is this a bad year for allergies?
Any naturopathic alternatives? I have tried the health food store homeopathic tabs. doesn't seem to work.
ALSO: Does NAET work, for those who have tried it?

to add to what MamaR said, it has to be raw unprocessed honey. Pasteurized honey has the allergy fighting qualities out of it.
My son takes children's Allegra - we took it as an Rx from his allergist and now get it over the counter, it works very well.
As for naturopathic - local honey works wonders! It has to be local, like within 10 - 20 miles of your home, or it won't help as much. Take 1 - 2 tbsp a day, you should see relief in a week or so. Basically it works like allergy shots; the bees use local pollen (which is causing the allergic reaction) to make the honey, you eat the honey and your body becomes desensitized to the pollens.
I use and sell nutritional products. I have learned that building the immune system is very helpful in fending off allergies. Also there are natural antihistamines. I could recommend several things if this is a route you'd like to explore.
And yes, this has been a horrible year for allergies. My husband nearly cured his allergies with my "methods." But this year he got a sinus infection anyway.

I think allergies are bad this year. I live in Gilbert as well and did not take one Benadryl last year (I used to take it every night for approx. 8 months of the year). This year I have itchy, watery eyes and throat. I've been sneezing like crazy too. Last year I started taking daily supplements from Melaleuca and the improvement was amazing.
