H.M.
Does most of it come with her head hurting first? If so it could be migraines. I know my son has gotten one every few months since he was about 6 or 7. Not fun. But we didn't figure out that's what it was till he was a little older.
My SD seems to throw up an awful lot. She went through a big phase right around the summer before Kindy (she's in 1st) now where it was happening at least once a month where she'd vomit a couple times in a day but be fine in between. It's gotten less in the last year but now something else weird is happening. In the last 3 months she's had 3 different incidents.
1 was obviously a 24 hr. stomach thing b/c she was sick all day and then fine.
The 2nd and 3rd both occurred right after she fell and hit her head playing at recess in school. The 2nd time we took her to the ER, got her a CAT scan and she was fine. Nothing the doctors were concerned about. And the 3rd time was just today, but the nurse thinks she's sick and the head injury is unrelated. Weird cooincidence? She did get a flu shot but that was over 2 days ago and she's had one before w/o incident.
DH is calling the doctor but I was wondering if any thing like this has happened to you moms.
UPDATE: She didn't fall and hit her head, she scraped her cheek on the concrete rim of the sand box. Then she said the back of her head started hurting. Then she got sluggish, didn't want to go to class and threw up. Could she just be getting herself really worked up over something? In general she's not terribly coordinated and is clumsy. We'Ve brought it up to the Dr and Dr didn't seem concerned.

Why is she falling and hitting her head?
If she is falling a lot in 1st grade I would be more concerned with that.
There is a lot of viruses going around right now so it could be a virus but if she is falling and hitting her head and vomiting I would be demanding more from the dr.
It was happening once a month? Could she have allergies to some thing she eats occasionally? May be that's causing the sporadic throw ups.
head hurts
sluggish
vomiting
any ONE of these should be considered a sign of concussion (my husband had to do training to coach my kids' sports teams and this is what he was taught) after a bump on the head, no matter how minor. and that bump can be anywhere to make the brain slosh around.
I'm really, really, really surprised the doc is not concerned. I'd seriously consider talking to a second doc.
I'd also seriously consider that you need a neurology consult at this point.
it could be her ears plugged up or it could be major - no way to know without pushing the docs to look at it more.
good luck.
My son starting vomitting....a lot.
I thought he had the flu.
It turned out that he actually had acid reflux. The doctor gave him some medication, I propped his mattress up so that his head was elevated. The vomitting stopped immediately.
Follow up with the doctor. Her symptoms could be related to something completely different than you are thinking of.
Best wishes.
Please have them give her a strep test. My kids have had strep WITHOUT a sore throat or fever, but with a lot of nausea.
Hope she's better soon!

It could be allergies especially if shes getting a lot phlegm thats upsetting her stomach. It could be a food type allergy. I also watched a show recently and if you eat the same foods all the time, eventually its like poisoning your body and you can get sick all the time. I'm not saying you do that to your daughter. It was really people who ate just pizza all day every day and absolutely nothing else for years so i'm sure its not that.
I know theres a virus circulating right now so whats going on today could very well be a virus.
Falling 2x and hitting her head and then vomiting seems alarming to me. The doctor should be called. Maybe she gets vertigo. I sure hope not though.
