Maybe! My problem was craving chocolate swirl ice cream. That was always the clew. Every person has there own problems when pregnant. I do not crave chocolate swirl ice cream any other time.

if you are going to go to the md anyway then save the money of the test and go... if you would not be going, do the test.

J.,
i am a nurse but not a mother. i would not hesitate to take a home pregnancy test as they are quite reliable in today's world. however i would not say that just because you have gastritis again you are pregnant. now with the coincidence of the missed period it would make you wonder. don't panic though it doesn't mean that you are pregnant, but a home test wouldn't hurt. if you are not pregnant, don't hesitate to see a gastroinerologist to help with any GI issues you may be having! Hi Hon...sounds like you are not wanting to get pregnant again so soon. I understand...if you are pregnant, a pregnancy test from the store would be the first and safest way to find out. Plus, the least expensive. If you are not pregnant, I would highly suggest seeing a doctor regarding the pain. If you are pregnant, do not fear...God has just blessed you with another lil one. Tell God what you fear and He will comfort you...trust Him and He will make sure everything will work out. Have a blessed day! di

The answer is easily obtained with an HPT, however the real question is, Why are you scared? If this is an unwanted pregnancy you need to get yourself the help you need to examine your options sooner rather than later. You don't want to wait until its too late for some options. Good luck J. and you can always find the support you need here.

As a nurse practitioner, I would recommend you take a pregnancy test and make an appointment to see your physician regarding your stomach pain. While you are waiting to have your appointment, see if there are things in your diet that trigger the stomach pain and eliminate them. Are your bowl movements regular? Try to eat very healthy with lots of fruits, vegetables, whole gains, green tea etc. Also, try to eliminate as much stress as possible and get your 8 hours of sleep. Keep a food diary to help you note a corrulation with your food and the stomach pain. Let us know what happens.

If you missed your period in Deecmber, why didn't you take a test then? I would venture to guess that if it has been over 4 weeks without any bleeding, then you are pregnant. Please take a HPT and call your doctor asap. If you are pregnant, you need prenatal care. This is not something to avoid.

J.,
Don't hold off any longer. Your doctor has the means to give you peace of mind. If you are pregnant, starting prenatal care as soon as possible is best.

Just take a home pregnancy test to ease your mind, and if you are still unsure, then go to the doctor. Bodies change after pregnancy and birthing. Why are you scared to go to the doctor? If you go, talk to your doctor about birth control options!
Best of luck!

Take a home pregnancy test. Either way, it sounds like you are concerned with the pain in your stomach so you will need to see a Dr. very soon. Best of luck to you.

J., Yes, try the home test. It is not surprising that you are scared, but of course it is not impossible and 18 mos apart is not unusual for births. We are all with you and hope your courage returns.

What Julie said. I had the same thing during my pregnancy with my second son, and now I have to be careful about what I eat and I have had a couple of gastritis attacks. Your doctor should be able to advise you.

Have you had a period prior to this? If so, I would assume you're pregnant. Congratulations! Why not take a home pregnancy test to be sure? Then you can decide if you want to see the same doctor, etc.

Hey J.,
I think you know that you might be pregnant. Just go get the test because if you are, it's important to get started on your prenatals right away! If you're still nursing your 9 month old, you'll need extra nutrition. The B-vitamins in the prenatals should help with the "gastritis" pain, but Homeopathy will help you with everything else. Let me know if you need my help with the homeopathy.

Stress can cause that problem, but to ease your mind I would take the test. If you are not breastfeeding you can become pregnant even after 6 weeks of having your baby. Breastfeeding usually delays the onset of menstruation, but it is not fool proof either. Take the test or go to your Dr who can test you as well. I am a natural childbirth educator and have come across many different happenings, so yours could be true!!!

For peace of mind, spend the $8 and buy a couple tests. Then, you'll know and schedule a doc appt. accordingly. If is the only thing causing your discomfort is gastritis, don't you need a different doctor other than an OB/GYN. Just a thought.

I have to agree w/ everyone...take a home test for your own peace of mind. And I know how you feel...my daughter was only 6 months old when I get pregnant again and it was completely overwhelming...being sick daily w/ a baby to take care of! And then 2 babies at once!! BUT...I will say, that I would not change one thing about the way things turned out! My kids are now 10 and almost 9 and I love it that way! (and after nearly 4 yrs of infertility before my daughter came along, this is how it was meant to be!) So, best of luck and keep us posted!

Walmart has pregnancy tests for about $4. Get one and take it. And go to the doctor anyway to see what the burning is all about.

It sounds like you could take an at home pregnancy test while you are waiting for a visit to the doctor. If it seems so similar it won't hurt to be healthy into the pregnancy if you are pregnant. And if not you have a head start on tackling something else. Maybe just eating habits can be altered a bit. If you are pregnant on one of those at home tests get some of those prenatal vitamins.

The best opition for you would be both, first you should take a home pregnancy test. then no matter what the result are you need to make a appointment with your ob gyn to find out whats going on because this is your health were talking about. i hope you get the answer you're looking for remember don't hesitate because you need to get the best care possible. GOOD LUCK !
