I have a few friends that are teachers. They LOVE gift cards :) I plan to buy my son's teachers Target gift cards~
PS. Don't forget, this week is teachers appreciation week~
I'm looking for ideas for a gift for my son's kindergarten teacher. He's only got 4 more weeks of school and he had the most amazing teacher. She is too good to be true and we would really like to show our appreciation. Does anyone have any ideas for an end of year gift for her? I'm kind of crafty, so I could do something creative (as long as it's not too tough). Also, are there any kindergarten teachers out there? What have you received that you really liked? What would you like to receive? This woman deserves the best! Thanks in advance for your help.

I'll share what I'm doing this year.
On pinterest I found this idea of making a little booklet with gift cards.
On the outside it you write "What Will Mrs. Smith Do This Summer?"
Inside:
See a good movie - Insert a gift card to the video store
Eat lots of yummy ice cream - Insert gift card to ice cream store
Pamper herself - insert gift card to bath n body works
Read a good book - insert gift card for Barnes & noble
(I'm doing the gift cards $5-$10)
Then I also added
Remember why you became a teacher - And this is where I will add - 5 things I like about Mrs. Smith that my kids will give to me. :)
I will also add a handwritten note from me
And a picture of my daughter on the first day of school
(I'm making these in a scrapbook sort of way and will add the gift cards.
In previous years I've homemade a card with my daughters 1st day of school pick and the 3 -5 things my daughter has said she's liked about the teacher on the cover. Inside I add my own personal note and a gift card to a place I know they would like. Her teachers have always told me how much they appreciated this - so I think they like it. :)
What about a gift card to a craft or teacher supply store? Those are ALWAYS appreciated...teachers spend a lot of their own money on materials throughout the year.
Most of all a note telling her what a real and profound difference she has made on your child: kindness, understanding, a love of school, etc.
Kindergarten teachers are such a unique mix of teacher and mommy!
This week, from May 7th to May 11th, it is "Teachers Appreciation Week." Also.
I have found that a handwritten card, is really appreciated. Don't write a generic "thank you" card. But instead write a thoughtful handwritten note card for all the things you appreciate about the teacher etc. Teacher's appreciate this. I do that every year.
Or, have a photo of your family and your child, and combine that with the handwritten card.
Teachers get lots of knick knacks and mugs. So don't do that.
Also, perhaps, well in my State, people give Teachers leis.
Or you can make a flower lei for the Teacher, using colorful construction paper that is cut out in flower shapes. And then string it together, with 1" sized straws in between the "flowers." (you have to cut up a straw). This is what we do here in Hawaii too.
I believe a special teacher deserves a gift. However, make sure you include a card with a handwritten note telling her how much both you and your child appreciate her. In the note you may want to include something about what your child learned or why he liked her.
I normally do gift cards, but this year I found this adorable little brass apple bell on Etsy.com. I thought it would be really cute on her desk and she can use it when she needs to get the kids' attention while in the classroom.
I was thinking of buying movie passes for our teachers.
Plastic potted different colored SOLAR FLOWERS that the flowers and leaves move, energize, by the heat of the sun during the day. I keep mine on my sunny kitchen window sill. When the sun goes down for the day the flower stops moving. The Dollar Tree sells them, and I've also seen them in the Hallmark store, but in that store they cost way more. Maybe you could include this into a larger gift. Everybody likes them!
