You can do absolutely Nothing.
Honestly, nothing.
Baby will come when baby is ready.
Stripping membranes is not a guarantee. My OB did it without my knowledge or consent and I carried 2 more weeks, even after loosing my mucus plug.
Even going in and having them try to induce labor isn't a guarantee. It doesn't always work.
All those ideas and suggestions are all wives tales. Eating spicy food, walking forever and everywhere, having lots of sex. None of it works unless baby is done developing and sends the signals to begin labor.
Another thing, your doctor is quoting outdated and dangerous information saying "oh it's OK" this early. It's been shown that even at 36 or 37 weeks, babies born can have many issues because they aren't developed enough yet, specifically lung development.
Your dates could be wrong. That Estimated Due Date is a guess. An educated guess, but a guess nonetheless. It assumes you have a perfect 28 day cycle, ovulated exactly on day 14 and baby takes exactly 280 days from the first day of your last period to fully develop. The word Estimated is used for a reason. The "E" does not stand for expiration either.
Those last few weeks are the hardest. You can see that you're almost there but you're still just that too much away. Everything hurts. Your body is working hard getting ready for the big day at this point.
Get lots of rest, drink lots of water, relax, watch some favorite movies or read a good book. Stop watching the clock and the calendar. Your little one will be here before you know it! Get your rest because you will need it very soon.
All the best for a quick and easy labor and delivery!
