I would get a second opinion from another pediatrician.
Hi mommies! My oldest son is deathly allergic to peanuts. My second son is 14 months now and seems to not handle dairy. I used a lactose free formula when he was about 5mnth-11 months and then switched to milk, but he didn't get it everyday because he seems to throw up. It has recently gotten worse and (yes...horrible mommy) I have just put two and two together that he may be allergic or intolerant. He starts to smell really sour, throws up curddles and cries uncontrolably for a few days. He also gets the runs and a diaper rash for a few days after having about 6oz of milk. He never gets a normal allergy rash so my question is if this is just an intolerance/coincidence or an allergy. I know what peanut does to my oldest-would a milk allergy do the same? Should I have him tested by an allergist, or do they even do that? (The Pediatrician office said to just give him soy milk, but I wanted to see if there was more I should do) Thanks for the help!
Thank you! I called my oldest sons allergist and set him up to be tested! Better safe than sorry!

Sounds similar to what my boys experienced & they have a milk protein allergy. Ask your DR for an immuno-cap blood test (yes you have to draw blood...but it is worth it). They can check for a standard list of food allergies and then you can add any specifics that you are concerned about.
I have to agree with the other posts...my son is lactose intolerant and has never displayed those kinds of symptoms. Definitely call the Pedi to set up an allergy test!
I am lactose intollerant and as well cannot eat tropical fruit or seafood. I throw up with seafood and milk and get rash and itch with the fruit and my throat itches and swells with the seafood. With the seafood I will also get extremely sick and get a hadache/migrane. Allergies are wierd you can form allergies at different times in your life so a test today may not show the same as a test next year. Best to stay away from foods that cause a reaction and get tested to see what it shows.
Make sure you do a blood test for Dairy allergy. That is digestive specific. It will help you more than just the scratch test on the back. My son came up ok on the scratch test but had a huge reaction on the blood test. Good Luck
have him tested for dairy, soy, wheat, eggs, and peanuts my son is all and much more.. he cant have lactose free or soy he gets goats milk or almond or rice milk... if they do more then one test and comes back positive look me up ill talk with u recipes and things to do -k- jen
