Every year my immediate and extended family take a vacation together. There are about 18 of us, so we need a large place. In the past we have rented huge houses, or two houses right next to each other. We are also open to renting out a type of retreat houses/cabins. Does anyone have a recommendation?

My husband and I go to a place called Wildman Ranch every year. We haven't gone since we had our daughter (16 months) but will bring her next year.
They have lots of activities - rafting, horseback riding, atv trails, etc. and several different housing options - small cabins, large homes to sleep several people, camping. It's a great place if you don't mind driving north a bit.

We've stayed here, but in a smaller townhouse. I've had many other friends rent larger homes and worked out great.
We have stayed at the Wilderness Family Resort in the Dells - they have houses next to each other and condos too depending on the size of the families. The water parks are great - indoors when the weather is cool. And the town is kind of cute. They have kitchens so people can bring food too.
Try some Wisconsin Real estate offices. They probably could help. They are usually available on line. I didn't have time to look, but also Wisconsin Travel bureaus....
My extended family enjoys Fish Trap Cove Resort in Winter, Wi. There are about a half dozen cabins around the cove, and a larger home further up the hill. I don't know how many that would hold. They have a website.
