Have any of you ever had laser hair removal done? I'm just wondering what the procedure is and the cost.

Hi,

I want this too and I have been asking around about this treatment for years. I have come to the conclusion that it is a "get what you pay for" kind of thing. Some people, perhaps those with light colored hair seem to have more of a problem with regrowth. My sister went with the lowest price and it all came back! She had terrible reddened and rashy skin for over a week after. Another friend went to a place where they used docs & nurses with experience and certification and her hair has been gone for 3 years with little regrowth. She is very happy. After at least 10 testimonials on this I would go with the people with the most experience.

Hello Bobbi,

I'm the Business Director for Nourish Medspa in Lombard. With today's technology, 4 to 6 treatments is all it should take to achieve results. To put it simply, a laser is scanned over the skin which heats the folicule and damages it from being able to generate continued hair growth. First it stunts the growth but with repeated treatments, it eventually damages it enough discontinue growth.

The price varies widely on the area you're looking to treat. For example, treating both of your entire legs can cost $400-500 per treatment but if purchased in a package, will cost about $2000. Centers will discount heavily if purchased in a package.

If you're willing to drive to Lombard, our consults are always complimentary and always with a nurse or our doctor. Make sure you ask this when calling other centers. Most places have estheticians providing the treatments. Just let me know, I'm happy to assist you.

Also, we use the highest and newest technology. Our machine is brand new so you know you can expect only the best.

Thanks,
S.

Or if anyone else is interested, please let me know!

I started treatment at American Laser center, and never finished.....My mother in law and myself both had bad experiences and no results. They claim it takes up to 12 treatments, while other places have faster and better treatments. They are also on the high end of the price scale. I paid 1500 for lip and bikini. Im just starting to look into it again, because Im finally done having babies. Good luck!

Hi Bobbi,

I had laser hair removal done three years ago and I got a wonderful result. They did it on my upper lip and chin. I used to wax once a week. Now every few months I have to remove one or two hairs. It is definitely worth the time and money that you spend to do it. There are varying price ranges out there, but I paid about $300 per session and they were 5-6 weeks apart. I had to have a total of six sessions, but it was definitely worth it. After the sixth one they offer any others at 1/2 price. Let me know if you need a referral to a great doctor that does the procedure.
