Yes and Yes. I had it about 3 years ago. It does make a great difference and much easier time of bikini season. It stings a little (feels like someone flicking you with a rubberband). I don't believe that it last forever, but it does reduce the need for shaving or other a great deal.

I'm a fan of laser hair removal. I used to wax but once I had my second child, I just couldn't find the time/babysitter to get to the spa so often. Laser hair removal however is a process - takes up to a year for complete results. Good news is that a did see a 30-40% reduction after my first treatment and it doesn't come back. Works well anywhere, bikini, underarm, legs...but it can get expensive so I'd say try bikini first and if it works well keep going. Best candidates for this type of hair removal have fair skin and dark hair. If your hair is blonde it won't work well and if you have dark skin, you should make sure you find a well-trained professional so you do not burn or scar.

My sister has gotten her armpits done and her bikini area done.

She's also had the bikini area done via wax before and she said that hurt more than she expected.

But she liked the laser hair removal and was very happy with it.

Yes, tried it. I won a certificate and also they had a half price sale so it made it affordable. Unfortunately they went under despite their half price sale to attract customers in this economy so be wary of that. It is pricey and if you pay for it all up front and they go under that would be bad. I was told it takes 5 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart so if you are hoping to have this done and completed by summer you are too late. You can still start it but won't finish before bikini season. Also FYI it does hurt. Not excruiciating (hey, you had a baby, right? lol) but definately causes a 'burning sensation' that can last a few days afterwards. I put bikini cream on it to help with that. When they are doing it it feels like a hard sharp plucking. Not pleasant but tolerable. They guaranteed 70-90% permanent removal if you do all the treatments, but I only got 2 treatments so it seems my hair grew back. Maybe it's not as bad as before but I am back to shaving again because I don't want to pay full price somewhere else. If you have the money I would make sure the place is a solid business because if you pay for a few treatments and don't get to finish them you will be out. Hope this helps.

I have had laser hair removal. I had it done on my underarms about 4 years ago. I went from a fairly normal amount of hair to virtually none. There were a couple of fine little hairs left after 5 treatments, but I was happy with the results. Then I got pregnant with my son and it all, or almost all, came back. If you are not finished having kids, I would stick with shaving or waxing for now.
I work in a medical spa and had my treatments done there. If you have other questions send me a message, I'd be happy to help.

I am currently in the middle of having laser removal in the bikini and legs. I got a really good deal so I was able to get them both done. I've only had 3 sessions and I already have spots where there is NO hair! I love it!!! It doesn't hurt anymore than a rubberband snap. I have talked to a lot of others who have had it done, and everyone says DO IT!!!!

If you have any questions, just send me a message.!

I have had it done. My first recommendation is that you wait until after you are done having kids. The hormone changes can make the hair grow back, so it is a big waste of money if that happens. If you can afford it and commit to the series of treatments (over the course of like 15 months) then it is nice. Even though I didn't get as many treatments as I would have liked, there was a big reduction, and what is left to shave is much finer and easier to deal with. The packages they usually sell don't seem to be enough treatments, that is what the nurse who did mine said. The place I went sells them in sets of 5, and she said it usually takes a couple more than that. Make sure you go to a reputable place. I went to a Med Spa where the treatments were performed by nurses, not just technicians.

I have had laser hair removal done for my bikini area because I would get terrible razor burn and I would hate to put on a bikini. Plus I have very dark hair and I always thought you could still see the shadow of my hair under the skin even right after I was done shaving. Laser hair removal got rid of almost all of my hair. I only have a few left. It really works great.
