Hi! So I had unprotected sex Sept 27 (2-3 days before my period should come) then took Plan B. Got my period then Oct. 6. So me and my boyfriend used condom everytime we would do it. Then Nov. 5, I got a flu shot then I got a cold on Nov. 7 (idk if getting a flu shot has any effects) So now it's Nov. 14 I haven't got my period although I've been getting these cramps since Nov. 10. So I thought I would get my period very soon. Also, I have been stressing out about it lately and since I'' in Uni, a lot of overthinking and couple of sleepless nights. I read some posts that Plan B can still delay your second period? Anyone has the same situation? Please Help?

What can I do next?

what does a home pregnancy test say?

Condoms are not 100% effective. while it's great that you are being somewhat responsible, the only person that can help you is a doctor. You need a blood test if you are still panicking about being pregnant.

When I was your age and had the odd scare, we took the morning after birth control pill. I had to go into our clinic and get one. If I was late, they advised to come in and be tested.

Then they'd talk about reliable forms of birth control - because if you're not safe every time, then of course you can get pregnant. I'd suggest using condoms (keep them on you if your boyfriend is not reliable) - they will help protect you against STD's, etc. And then I'd seriously consider going on the pill or an IUD, or some other method (whichever works for you that you will use consistently).

Taking any kind of birth control or morning after pill, can affect your cycle for sure.

I guess I don't understand why you'd stress and worry - when you can take a pregnancy test. That would be my suggestion at this point.

I guess I am not understanding your true question . . . you had unprotected sex, used Plan B, THEN got your period (late, but you got it), since then have only had protected sex, and now your 2nd period after Plan B is late (I am leaving out all the flu shot/sick, since it seems somewhat irrelevant here).

Do you think that somehow you are still pregnant? We can't answer that, only a doctor can. Do you think that somehow since the Plan B delayed your Oct period, it may or may not be responsible for the delay of your Nov period? Again, we can't answer that, only a doctor can (or nurse line might be able to help).

Kudos for being responsible (mostly) but honestly only your doctor/clinic can answer these questions - even then they are subjective to other outside factors like stress or eating habits or a million other things. Make an appointment, have them double check you aren't pregnant (which is probably your real concern here) and then likely once you know you are not, you will lower your stress and get your period.

Good luck!

Stress can delay a menstrual cycle. I think that if you were having protected sex after your last period, it's highly unlikely you would be pregnant. That said, if you are worried, take a pregnancy test. It's better than sweating out the waiting, right?

And please, get on some form of birth control. IUD is great because you don't have to go to the pharmacy each month or remember to take pills. But you need to have some b/c besides condoms as they aren't 100% effective.

Have you taken a pregnancy test?

If I were you I'd run over to your OB/GYN or planned parenthood and see someone. They will advise you as to what to expect after taking plan B and perhaps also put you on the pill if you'd like to try something like that. Don't delay and worry yourself, just run over to PP. They are excellent!

Good that you and your boyfriend use condoms every time you "do it."
May I suggest some birth control (pill, shot, Mirena) as well?
And...if you think you are pregnant...which you could be, then go get a pregnancy test.

Condoms are not affected by flu shots.

You need to go to your doctor for a blood test. I don't know how Plan B works. I can't help you.

I do know stress levels affect your cycles. I strongly suggest that if you don't want to get pregnant? You stop having sex until you can afford to have a baby and not stress over this.

Good luck!

This could be answered with a pregnancy test and blood test. Best to consult your physician..

It's good that you proactively protected yourself with a flu shot - flu season is starting!

As for the other stuff, you should ask a doctor.

the plan b pill is hormones. and will mess your hormones up for a while so yes it can delay or eliminate a second period. glad you tested, and i hope you learned your lesson and get a more reliable form of birth controll
