Laundry Stains

My baby girl got sick while my husband was out of town. The laundry sat longer than I wanted and the shirt she threw up on has mold stains on it. They started out black and fuzzy, now I just have black spots. Is there anything I can or should do other than throw it out? Is it the black fuzzy mold that is so dangerous, so even if I got the stains out, would be better to throw the shirt out? Amazingly, the vomit all washed out with no problem. I really like the shirt, so I'd love to be able to keep it. Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

Hi K.,
We all can relate to the stains that come along with motherhood! I started using some products from a company that guarantees my satisfaction and I love that. They are safe for our families and the environment. They have laundry products and a specific stain remover that I would love to talk to you about...too much for an email :). I can tell you how to get it directly from the manufacturer at a huge discount! If you are interested, I can also share with you how to get the products FREE! (It's so simple!!)

Best Wishes,
M.

I have found that soaking things in Oxy for several days works great! I guess you have to have a little patience with some of these things. The other thing I learned was as soon as they make the stain put it in cold water at least. I keep an ice cream bucket in my laundry area so I can just fill it up and toss whatever right in. I put a scoop of oxy later, when I have time, and then go back and agitate it every so often. Usually it comes out. Good luck to ya!

I would say toss it. I have never been able to get those kind of stains out. And it's mold, better safe than sorry.

Sorry, I understand. I have lost a few really cute items of clothing to those nasty little stains.

Unless it's white I'd forget about it and toss it. I've had this happen a couple of times and it's not worth the effort. Those little black spots never really come out, not even with oxyclean and sun altough if you really love the shirt try that first.

mildew. we lived in a humid climate for a few years and i could get that. Bleach would work on the whites, but other than that, chalk it up to a lesson learned and toss it. good luck!

Sadly i'm in the toss-it-out group. My 2 y/o DD had the cutest little dress and my favorite shirt ever. My husband didn't put them in the laundry and they sat with food from school on them and they molded. I soaked in oxy, I soaked in color safe bleach, I washed in every temperature including santiary. I used dawn adn WD40 and a scrub brush and everything else. The mold seems to have become part of the fabric!! Sadly I finally threw them out after the last try of trying real bleach on them (surprisingly they didn't lose too much color though!).

Go buy some oxyclean! just a little bucket goes a long ways! you just follow the laundry soak instructions and soak it for a long time-it should come right out. let me put it this way: my son had a major blow out diaper after having a tomato based soup the night before so he had RED RED RED stains all over my favorite white onesie of his. I soaked it for 24 hrs-tossed it in a regular white load-looks brand new. good luck :)

My family and I have been shopping online from a safer store for about a year. The company has a non-toxic line of stain removers and laundry soap. I have used both products with much success. I actually spilled red wine on my white carpet and the stain remover got it out without problem. We were also able to get permanent black marker out of a leather chair. I am sure this product would help. Please visit www.livetotalwellness.com/wyn to request additional information. I hope this helps you!

I would throw it out. I think it's better to be safe when it comes to mold.
