Leapfrog Leapster

My sons had the hand held and loved it. Yes they learned from it too. I like the hand held because it kept them busy in the car and on long trips. They have moved onto DS and havent used the Leapsters that much. I was thinking about selling them. I have several games that go with them. Let me know iif you are interested in them.

My daughter has the Leapster and i LOVE it. To be honest it is not that great on tv though. I really recommend the V-smile for the tv "video game". Its also very educational and feels like hes playing an actual video game with the joystick....

My 4 year old son LOVES his leapster. He has an xbox, but it obviously doesn't travel as well!! I can tell you from experience that it is almost impossible to break the thing. His nickname is Destructo, and he has had his leapster for over a year. Before he got his own, he played with his sisters. The game cartridges are also VERY sturdy. None broken yet!

My son has had his Leapster for about 3 years now and still going, I have also gotten my sister to buy one for her son that will be starting school in Aug of 2008 and he loves it. My son loves his to but he knows now that he is learning and he still loves it he will be 9 in April. It has even helped him with his math from school to understand it better. In a nut shell the Leapster is great. It is a great investment.

We bought one for my four year old and my two year old plays with it more! She listens to the Letter Factory story and has learned her letters this way so I definitely recommend the Leapster.

My son has the handheld leapster, and we love it. Trust me, your daughter won't break it. My son, who will be four in a couple of weeks, has the green one, and my daughter received the pink one for her second birthday. They have fallen more than you could imagine, and they still work like new. It's great because I can take them when we travel. I'm pregnant, so I have a lot of doctor's appointments, and they're a life saver when we're waiting to be seen. Anyway, I highly recommend this product.

We got our Leapster from WalMart, the TV version. Santa brought the LeapPad for Christmas this year. Our little one seems to like the LeapPad better but does enjoy playing the TV games too!

My daughter got the pink hand heald game for her 4th birthday, along with the backpack to keep it in. She loves it. We fly back and forth to New England about 3 times a year and it's the best thing that's happened to us for the plane ride. The great thing about them is that the games grow with the kids. As they get older they can get games that will stil challenge them..I do also highly recommend the backpack to hold the game and all of the cartridges..we always know where they are!! Rare in my house!! They are also pretty much indestructable!! My son will be 3 in May and we're getting him his own for his birthday!!

Santa brought one of these for my three year old this year. She loves it. It gives her lot of independence. She knows how to turn it on and loves to sit and play. Although her almost 2 year old sister hasn't figured it out yet, she will sit and watch her sister play. I will say that if you get it, you wil want to purchase more than just one additional game to go with it. They get bored of the games fast. Other than that, I am a huge leap pad fan. I didn't feel that we were ready for the handheld yet and this seems to keep her from banging on the computer keyboards now. Good luck!

We have the LMax, and it plugs into the TV and also can be hand held. Our daughter plays with it most in the car, so the hand held is nice. Also, it has been dropped out of the car, tossed down when she's are done, and carried by the string to the pen, it has not broken. I think they are pretty indestructable. Our friends quit recognizing to touch screen, so they sent it back to leap frog, and they recalibrated the screen for $10.

Hello I have a 8 yr old daughter who recieved her Leapster(hand held) about 4 yrs ago and has not put it down since and it has been a huge blessing to this mother of a fussy bored typical ADD child. I allow her to use it as a reward and it goes everywhere with us. Helps alot at places we might have to wait and I need Abby to be able to be quiet and calm. It works for us I would thinka bout the hand help if you guys are on the go plus one less fight over a Tv and dont worry about his sister braking it I do not know how you could break them Abby has done everything short of throwing hers onto the highway and its still going strong.

We have the handheld and I'm really pleased with it. In deciding about the TV or handheld I went with the handheld because we can take it places. My daughter is older and pretty busy with extracurricular activities and he takes it along. He also takes it with him when we're out running errands and on long trips.

I do recommend getting the backpack that's made for them. It's easier to keep all the games organized and in one place. It also has a velcro strap we use to hang the backpack on the back of the front seat so he can get to it easier.

Either way, I think it's a good purchase. My son has picked up a lot with it.

Hello A., i recomend to get the L-Max wich is the TV compatible version. The TV as a screen will avoid lots of fighting for that toy if there are siblings or friends around because everyone can see the game that is played.. If you get it in ToysRus get the Buyer Protection Plan wich will replace or repair your L-Max at 100% no cost to you no matter why your kids broke it. Even the Taxes you paid will be refundet. I like the learning effect it has on my 4 and 7 year old boys. The only negative i can tell about it is that the cost of Batteries is kicking in on my wallet. When i have a little money to waste i'll buy the recharchable battery Pack.

I bought my oldest daughter the Leapster LMax for Christmas. She loves it and I highly recommend it. She is six but my four year old also likes to play it. We have the VSmile game for the tv but did not find good reviews on the Pocket VSmile. I went with the Leapster for that reason.

Well I cant tell you from personal experience but from a retailer standpoint it is definitly worth the money. Throughout this christmas season it was one of the hotteset items we couldnt keep it on the shelves. I have not heard anything bad nor have we had many returns on them. I did my reasearch as well and for my 5 yr old son we chose the v smile pocket and he loves it so really either one will be great.

We have the Leapster L-max and I think this was the best gift my youngest daughter received over two years ago. She still plays with it as much as she did the day she received it. In the past, I made a plan to get one new game every 3 months or so, this way she has a variety to choose from.
My 18 1/2 month old son, has even started playing with it and enjoys play the games. If you are unable to find this game system in the stores, I would try their website. Sometimes they have sales on their site.

We got the Leapster hand held for my daughter and she loves it. I have not seen the tv one out as much since the hand held came out. I also have a younger daughter too, and we are very careful to leave it ou of her reach when not in use. It is great for long car rides and Drs office too. You can get the Leapster LMAX that is both...can be plugged into TV or hand held. HTH

The Leapster L-Max is the way to go. He can play it as a hand-held OR you can plug it in to the t.v. My son loves it. He's six and been playing with it since he was four.

Both of my daughters have the hand held version of the leapster. It was money well spent. We have had them for about 3 yrs and the younger one will still play. My older one is now eleven and most of the games are to easy for her. Even the children that I was caring for got them as well
