That happened to me with my first, I was cramping so bad I went to the ER and they said that it was normal. I cramped for about 2 to 3 weeks. Now my 7 year old gives me cramps for other reasons, he he he. Stay strong!
We took a pregancy test two weeks ago and found out we are gregnant with number 2. We are so excited, but I am nervous something is wrong. I cramped after ovulation and have continued to cramp even after we found out we were pregnant. I am also having some lower back pain which started today. I did not experience this with our first child so I am nost concerned and nervous about what is going on. Are there other moms that had these symptoms and carried a healthy baby to term? Any ideas on what it might be? We do have a doctor's appointment next Tuesday and should hopefully find out more information then. Thanks for any advise and thoughts!!
Thank you all for you comments! We went to the doctor today and everything looks good! My biggest fear was a tubal pregnancy and she confirmed that the little peanut is intrauterine and and is right on target for 7 1/2 weeks. She also confirmed what many of you said that the cramping is very normal especial for #2 and after, but spotting and bleeding wasn't, which I had NOT had. I now have a peace of mind that all will be fine! Thank you all!

i am a fomer L and D nurse and mom. i actually had cramping AND some bleeding my first and second pregnancies.miscarried the first and carried to second without a problem.try and keep a mental note to see if its getting worse or staying the same. just take it easy.it may just be implantation bleeding. other things it may be (worse case scenarios) are ectopic pregnancy or threatened miscarriage. at around 5-6 weeks there is not much you can do to stop miscarriage, but certainly rest when you can. no heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, or strenuous activity for a few days and see if this makes a difference. you can also ask your dr to do blood work called a quantitative HCG to check to see that the level of hormone circulating in your blood is up to par....and then repeat it in a few days to make sure its still rising.
I had light cramping with both my pregnancies. Sometimes it can happen when the egg is implanting into the uterus. Also, there's a lot going on in there right now. Lots of activity! As long as you aren't bleeding and you have other pregnancy symptoms, you are hopefully just fine!
All three of my pregnancies I have suffered painful cramping in the first 8 weeks. Brings me to the floor sometimes. As long as it isn't followed by bleeding I wouldn't worry too much about it. Lots going on down there. I would suggest a chiropractor to help with the back pain. Also a good idea to get a head start on it for the later hip pain that you most likely will get. Hope you start feeling better soon!
I have cramped and had back pain with all 3 of my pregnancies. All were healthy and full term. This happened throughout the duration of each pregnancy. As long as the pains don't get stronger, increase in intensity or start having other problems (like bleeding) you should be just fine. Just discuss it with your Dr.
Congratulations!
Cramping early in pregnancy is fairly common. I cramped in 2 out of 4 pregnancies. 2 of them were normal and healthy and the other 2 I lost early on. The cramping was the same in all cases. I never had horrible cramps just menstrual like ones. Good luck!
I am 8 1/2 weeks pregnant with our 3rd right now. (7th pregnancy.)
I had some really wierd stomach cramping this time too. About at the 5/6 week mark. It got so bad that it kept me awake at night! (It always got worse towards the end of the day....) And then my lower left side of my back started to ache. I've been to the regular doc enough times with all my pregnancies to know that they wouldn't be able to help me. I went to the chiropractor. I noticed a difference in a few hours. That night I still had the pain/cramping but it was definitely less. By the next day I felt quite a bit better. And I haven't had the problem again.
(This is the first pregnancy that I"ve had this cramping/pain problem like this....)
I had more cramping and aching with my 2nd pregnancy. As long as your not spotting and the cramping is not severe everything is probably ok.
One of the girls who works for me had terrible cramping in her first trimester, once she changed her diet the cramping stopped. She ate very bland for a few days and that was what made her realize it was dietary. If your cramping is accompanied by bleeding then I would call the doctor. I had light spotting with my daughter and she is 20 years old. Each person is different so try not to stress out. I know easier said then done. Good luck I will pray for you.
I am 17 weeks now and had pretty bad cramping in the earlier weeks. The OB told me that usually after your first child you feel a lot more than you do with your second child, you are a little more aware of what is going on with your body.
Try not to worry, I know it is hard =) Good luck!
