My husband and are taking a cruise to Bermuda at the end of April. We currently have a tandem stroller and a side-by-side jogging stroller. Both are too big to lug on and off of a cruise ship and public transit in Bermuda. We are looking for a lightweight tandem that will be good to take on vacation. We were originally looking at the Summer Infant 3Dtwo. But our 3.5 year old son will want to sit in the front, but there is no front footrest. I'm not too keen on that or that our 9 month old daughter won't be able to see much from the back.
We were also looking at the Joovy Caboose Ultralight Graphite Stand-On Tandem. It looks like a better fit because our daughter can sit in the front, and our son can sit or stand in the back, and both will still be able to see pretty much everything. We just wanted to get some other opinions to see if there are any strollers that we may have overlooked. I know this question has been asked before, but every post I found was from several years ago. I'm assuming things have changed since then. Thanks for any information you can give!
I know this isn't really what you asked - but I'd go with one or two umbrella strollers and be done with it - you can get one for $9.99 or spend a couple hundred on a nice maclaren.

And I wouldn't even consider a stroller for the 3 1/2 yr old unless there's a LOT of walking.
Our son was done with strollers by 2 yrs old.
He walked and/or we carried him.
If it was an all day thing we took a wagon with us and he could lay down in it and nap if need be but I don't think that will be an option on a cruise ship.
I do not think I would even bother buying one. Does your 3 1/2 year old really need a stroller. You will only need a small stroller for the cruise ship (for baby)and in Bermuda I doubt you would need one for big kid. Or u can just buy a cheap umbrella stroller if you really think you would need one for the oldest. Just went stroller free to Disney with a 3yo and 4 1/2 year old. Was not a problem.
combi stroller is very lightweight and literally folds in half the long way. theres no other stroller like it
Aw!! I have no clue about the stroller, but I lived there from 92-95. I miss it SO much and can't wait to get my kids back there. If you go to Clearwater beach (at the end of the runway) and look across towards the rain catcher, you'll see a smaller beach. There were three houses there and I lived in the one closes to the runway. They have since been destroyed, but still. It's AMAZING there. Have a GREAT time!
no clue about the stroller, but have a wonderful time in bermuda! i grew up there, and it will always be home to me.

When mine were that age (same spacing) and we were on vacation, the 3 year old walked and the little one was in a baby backpack. Kelty makes a great one. If your 3 year old really doesn't want to walk, put the baby in the backpack and then push an umbrella stroller.
Or, each parent pushes an umbrella stroller.
Couple of thoughts, although I have not had either. When my sister went abroad with her brood, they got these very lightweight umbrella strollers (inexpensive) and they were able to purchase a connector bar that connected the two. Each parent could push one if they wanted, but easy to snap together for one parent to maneuver I don't know the name sorry - this was a long time ago, but I'm thinking they probably have improved on it if anything. Maybe something to Google.
Friends of ours had one of those stand-on tandem types. They loved it. Their child was about your son's age when they had a baby. She loved to be the big kid and not have to be strapped in, but could rest when tired. I think theirs was fairly substantial (heavy) was the only thing. Again, they've probably improved on design since then.
We have the joovy caboose and love it. My 3 yr old loves to walk, but then likes to sit for a little bit, then stand. If she gets tired, daddy carries her while she sleeps. If you are concerned about both children being able to nap, you could use the add on seat.
Focus on the best stroller for your daughter, encourage your son to walk. If he is 3.5 now, will be even closer to 4 in April...don't put money/energy into figuring out a stroller for him.
The 9 month old won't be doing much sight seeing at all. I would probably not even put her in it other than when she needs a nap. Then the back seat would need to lay down.
I would put her in a sling of sorts where she can be up and looking around and engaged. I wouldn't want to carry her all day of course but your 3 year old isn't going to sit idly either. So him up and running around and her in the front seat. Then her in the sling and him in the stroller. Both in the stroller when she's asleep if wanted so your backs can take a break.
Bermuda isn't very big at all. You can go from one end of the island in a little bit. My husband lived there as a kid and he rode his bike or used their boat to go everywhere. It's just a little over 20 miles long I think. You'll have lots of fun there.
