Liquid, Sheets, or Bar

My wash routine is generally a combination of All Free and Clear, stain fighting with Shout or a good old bar of Ivory soap and scrub-brush, a little bleach (or color-safe bleach that is also free and clear) and/or a little white vinegar for the towels only.

Nothing works for freshness like hanging out the clothes in the sun - I even do that in the winter if there isn't three feet of snow under my clothes hanger!

I avoid most of the other stuff as there are too many chemicals and perfumes in them and I already feel like I am useing too mcuh!

I LOVE Arm & Hammer power gel.....I am addicted to it! For our hard, hard water.....it's the best! I am very sensitive to scents. A&H is one of the few detergents which does not trigger my allergies/my son's eczema, AND it works on my DHs greasy work clothes. An all-around winner for my family!

I use Tide Febreeze Sport on all of our clothes, and they smell great. Now that it's nice outside, I dry the clothes on a clothesline, then toss them in the dryer with a sheet of bounce for 10 minutes. I can re-use the bounce sheet 4-5 times this way. They smell sun fresh and we're saving energy!

I had been wondering about the Bounce Bar myself. I actually use whatever is least expensive but still has a nice scent. The crazy thing, I use liquid AND sheets currently. However, I never use fabric softener on my towels because they don't absorb as well. Strange...I know :o)

I use Tide and Tide with Bleach exclusively. I've tried it all and nothing cleans like Tide.
I do use less than they recommend. The washing machine repair guy told me years and years ago to back off on the amount of liquid - that it isn't necessary and he was right.
I use costco brand dryer sheets -- they aren't as good as bounce, but they are fine.
I add vinegar to the wash if the clothes are particularly stinky.
I add the old baking soda from the fridge to the wash when I replace the fridge box... It eliminates stinky smells, too!

I use Sun laundry detergent because its cheap lol. I get a pretty big bottle for $5 at our Winco.

Then I use Downy on most stuff except towels. I love the way Downy original smells, so fresh and clean, and especially on our sheets. It makes them soft.

I too had always wanted my clothes to smell fresh days later and have always used liquid Tide w/Bleach (Clean Breeze) detergent, liquid Downy (Clean Breeze) and Downy (Clean Breeze) dryer sheets. I knew they were clean but never realized until a few months ago that the scent actually does stay with the clothing. Around Easter I had given my SIL some clothes that my youngest daughter had outgrown and I had packed away recently. About a week later my MIL called and asked me how I did my wash and what I used. Apparently she was visiting my SIL and she had shown her the clothes I had given her. She said they smelled like they had just come out of the wash and she wanted to know exactly what I used because they smelled so good. I laughed, but told her what I buy. She now buys the same thing. I can't say buying the Tide with bleach really makes a difference, but I can atest to the smell!

I love the smell of clean laundry too, especially sheets!! Unfortunately, my husband and boys get a rash when I use the good smelling stuff, so now I have to use fragrance free on everything. But I did want to tell you something funny. I was previously using the Downy, and it said something on the bottle too about so many days of freshness. When it started getting warm outside, I was pulling all my short sleeved shirts out of the closet to wear, and they still smelled like Downy, and that was from last fall!! Guess that one works good!!

Nothing! I hate what softener does to clothes--they seem too soft & droopy. I just use Tide with Bleach alternative & fold right after they are dried...

I like the Arm & Hammer Baking Soda detergent - seems to make the clothes smell really good for a long time.

I use the sheets (gain- love the smell of gain!) because I can never remember to put the liquid softener in when i'm supposed to- don't you have to put it in at a certain point in the cycle? I could be totally flaking it, now that I think of it... haha!

I use snuggle fabric softener and I use the dryer bar. I love it. Due to the fact with the sheets you always end up finding them in your pant leg 2 hours later! LOL!!! Also the bar is better for your dryer. If you take out the lint trap, clean it off and run water on it and the water doesn't go through the screen it can damage your dryer. That is from the dryer sheets. The coating comes off the sheets and collects on the lint trap. I scrubbed mine and have not had that problem since switching to the bar.

We Never use dryer sheets, only occasionally dryer balls. Dryer sheets are extremely toxic and can give you cancer. Not worth it. We never have static cling, so no problem. Read up on this, you will be so surprised how serious this is.
