Hi Everyone,
I am looking for ideas on where to hold a 2 year old birthday this January. My home is too small for the amount of guests we're having and this is a tricky birthday month because it could be really cold to do it outside. There will only be a handful of kids and the rest will be family/adults. The only place I really don't want to do it is Chuck-E-Cheese as I feel it is too overwhelming for the kids. Thanks in advance for your response.

What can I do next?

I would try a YMCA. They are less expensive than other places. The one in Rancho Penasquitos will host a Sports Party. They provide the games/obstacle course and you provide the food. The parties can be indoors.

Try Pump-it-Up (or similar) or Kidsville or the Children's Museum or maybe a friends or relative's house that can accommodate all the people or if you know someone that lives in an apartment/condo complex that has a rec room you could rent/reserve for the day or try your local Boys & Girls Club or YMCA to see if they have facilities available.

How about Peter Piper Pizza...like Chucky's but not as busy...a nicer pace...esp. for little ones.

We have a place called My Kids Clubhouse that is a smaller indoor play area with a few separate rooms for parties.

You could also try your local Mc Donalds, Burger King or Carls Junior. I think they usually do punch and burgers and have a little goody bag for the kids.

I just had my son's second birthday party at My Gym and it was awesome! They provide almost everything and the kids were totally entertained for an hour and a half. It was the easiest party I've ever thrown. I made cupcakes, ordered pizza, and bought drinks. They give you the invitations, thank you notes, plates, napkins, and they clean up! Check out their website mygym.com.

My daughters birthday is in January also. I don't know what area you live in but you can check out JavaMama cafe in La Mesa and also the Ray and Joan Kroc Center. The latter might be better if its going to be mostly adults.

My daughter's birthday is in February. Two years ago, we had her party planned at a park in Tierrasanta with a jumper. It poured rain nonstop that day. We ended up calling (most) everyone and went to the Boll Wievel on CLairemont Mesa Blvd. They have a little side room that we had our party in...childrens' menu meals were like $ 4.00 and adult meals not much more. There are a few video games which occupied the kids temporarily, but not so that you have to go searching for everyone and "beg" them to come back for the present & cake like when you go to Chuck E Cheese. I don't know about the other Boll Wievels but the server at the Clairemont Mesa one are extraordinary...
