Hi, Moms.
Has anyone parked long term at Midway Airport? If so, is it much easier and cheaper than parking long term at O'Hare? (nightmare!)
Thank you in advance.

I prefer Midway to O'Hare and I travel often on business. Offsite garage on 55th between Central and Cicero for $14/day. Nice if weather is bad and very quick. Offsite outdoor or garage at 47th between Central and Cicero for $10.25 outside and $12.25 inside. They pick you up right at your car and drop you off at your car. Very safe. www.parkrideflyusa.com make sure you select Midway (MDW). Also 866-922-7275. If you make your reservation in advance which is preferred if traveling on a holiday I believe you save money.
Good luck and safe travels.
Good luck.
Yes we did and our car was fine and it wasn't too expensive We found a parking lot near the airport and there was a little bus that drove us to the airport. It was about four years ago and everything turned out fine. And I am cheap and was scared and yet when we returned all was well. Hope things turn out just as fine for you. And believe me we went through a lot of problems in life so I know how nervous you can feel. I did reserve it ahead of time. I wish I could remember who it was at this moment but don't. But I think you will be alright.
Hi Amy, we use long term parking at Midway several times a year. We have had all positive experiences. The shuttles run regularly and are patient with us as we load our baby and all of his gear. Good luck and safe travels!
We've never used O'Hares parking, but once every year during the holidays we use Midway's long term for 4 or 5 days. Since it's the holidays, we usually end up in the remote parking lot, which is maybe a mile or two away, and take the shuttle bus to the terminals. It's maybe $14/day.
This doesn't help for Midway but for future reference going to O'Hare...we used the Thrifty car rental long term parking with a shuttle to the airport. They were quick, helpful and reasonable. ($10 a day I think) Would definitely use them again.
Have a good trip!
I always use Park Fly Ride at Midway:

Cheap, close by and shuttles come quick. They even have indoor parking for you (great if it's winter time). I always pay ahead of time online too.
I've parked in the onsite long-term parking for 5 days (it's in a garage and on the airport property, but not walking distance from the terminals). It is clean and safe and they charged my battery for free when I returned to the car and realized my son had left a light on in the back of the minivan and drained it. It was a Sunday night and they responded within 10 minutes with a charging unit. There is a free shuttle, too. It was very easy and convenient. I haven't used long-term parking before at either airport, so I don't know how the pricing compares.
I also used Park Ride Fly at Midway and it was wonderful. The shuttle was prompt, the lot was secure, and everything went smoothly, even with two babies.
everything at midway is easier and cheaper than ohare! i've parked right next to the terminal - i think it was only for three days, but it wasn't too extreme. there are also a couple of parking services nearby where you can leave your car, they drive and pick you up from the airport and have your car warmed up and ready for you when you return.
We've used the closer long term parking for several occassions. We have found the newer garages nicely lit and clean and when I travelled with my two toddlers alone I felt safe. On our return one of us always gets the car while the other stays with kids and smaller luggage items. Garages are enough so shuttle ride is quick. I don't know what the different lots are called but I recommend the parking facility off of 55th street and Cicero.
