I am at high risk for skin cancer and have been very good the past few years about staying out of the sun and protecting my skin. I have also had full body skin checks for the past three years. The problem is the original derm I saw moved away, and the last one I saw had very rude office staff. I've had a strange "growth" on my shoulder for the past few weeks and know it needs to be checked, but I really want to hear from others about any experiences with great dermatologists (or ones to stay away from)before I make an appointment. I don't want a doctor who just does a cursory check or who doesn't seem concerned. I'm looking for a doctor very experienced with skin cancer and who is detailed, professional, up-to-date on the latest in the field, and concerned about his/her patients. I live in the Green Valley area of Henderson but am willing to travel anywhere in the valley for a great dermatologist. Thanks!

He offers several different services and you can get an appointment very quickly. His staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. I don't know whom you have used, but I have had great experience with Dr. Handler. He has two offices. ONe on the other side of town which is his main office then he has an office that he goes to once a week in Boulder City. Both my husband & I have been seeing him for over 5 years and both have had cancer spots removed. He has taken his time with us every time. I hope this isn't one you have had a bad experience with.

I go to Dr. Seigfried Muller at LV Skin and Cancer. I got his name from several different doctors and previous patients before seeing him. He is from the Mayo Clinic and has been involved in several studies and the latest technology. He is older than dirt but knows his stuff...his office can be a little abrupt but I think its worth it to see the best! He has several locations that he goes to but I recommend the one off Rancho and 95. (He doesn't go to the Seven Hills location of LVSC and the Pecos one is just gross!) Hope this helps.

I went to Susie Smith at Thomas Dermatology last fall. The number is ###-###-#### and the address is 9097 W Post Rd Ste 100, Las Vegas 89148. The office is in the far SW part of the valley (like the SW corner of the 215). Everyone was really nice, I liked Dr. Smith and I didn't have to wait forever. I'd highly recommend them. I live in Silverado Ranch so it isn't particularly convenient but I'll drive to see a doctor I like. My boss goes to one of her coworkers (Doug Thomas) but he had something like a 3 month wait for an appointment so I went to one of the partners (Dr. Smith) and was happy with her.
